That's not true.

A lot of Bama fans were uneasy and not all thrilled over the hiring of Kiffin. However, they grew to love the hire and call Saban a genius and loved Kiffin. Now they are glad he is leaving a week before the title game.

Once Lane was let go, Sark can coach on field. During practice he can coach all they want. Analysts just can't recruit or have hands on during games.

Analysts can't coach the players at all, practice or game. This is assuming the rules were followed, of course.

Lane Kiffin was away from the celebration all the way down on the opposite 10 yard line surrounded by about 12 reporters.
This. Kiffin had already left Alabama; would not even celebrate with the players.

On top of that he was making fun of Saban and Tuscaloosa.

Sports Illustrated....
quote:

Kiffin doesn’t pretend that he enjoyed every moment working at Alabama, as he mentions daily 7:30 a.m. staff meetings like he was forced to drink sour milk. He felt isolated in Tuscaloosa; his family didn’t move there, and his profile didn’t allow him to go anywhere socially. “This will come across wrong,” he says. “But it’s like dog years. Three years is like 21.”

Sporting News....
quote:

On the happiest he recalls Saban during his time at Alabama: "I don't recall a happy moment. I just recall the arse chewings. [laughs] I won't take that part of the process with me, though."

After all that Saban did for Kiffin, I thought he was being a bitch, and he totally didn't care what happened to Alabama.

Guess I am in the minority here but I am anxious to see if sarks offense resembles some of the USC playbook where we actually take some shots downfield off of play action. Sick of the roll out, throw it up in second row crap we see now and middle of the field totally not utilized. Hurts may make some mistakes but will loosen up things. Feel sorry for Ridley this year

He can't put in a new playbook in a week. So Sark is going to have to be calling plays from Kiffin's playbook for this game which is why I'd be a bit nervous if I was a bama fan because you have a guy who hasn't called a game in over a year or coached any of these players who isn't going to be able to implement and run "his" offense.

It sounds though like there was not a "good" option here and it was a matte of figuring out which option had the least risk to it.

Back in my first life when I was coaching, I got my first coordinator job the week before the North half championship. My db's sucked during the north half. My mind, although I called myself giving it all, was at my new job.

Sark and kiffin basically have the same stuff I would assume from all their years together. The type plays I am talking about ARE in the playbook bc we have used them (more last year than this one). Vertical routes
