Meh. You can be against or for the changing of the flag. But you can't invalidate his view/opinion by suggesting it can't be valid if he didn't hold it when he was a teenager in HS.
If you do college right, you should change some of your views/opinions/the way you see things from what you previously did as a HS teenager.

Amazing to me the same people that claim to be the best of Patriots also support the glorification of a treasonous rebellion to the US. I assume y'all wouldn't have a problem with the MS flag bearing the ISIS emblem?
Amazing how you think this is about Confederate flags and statues. Jefferson, Washington, Grant, Francis Key, Saint Junipero Serra, Churchill, Robert the Bruce, Teddy Roosevelt and war monuments over the country are being removed and destroyed by these cancel culture people. It starts with Confederate statues and then moves on to any and all things the cultural fascists find offensive.

Also incredible so many out of state people are so obsessed with MS keeping that shite confederate logo. If y'all are so obsessed with it, why not campaign in Alabama, Tennessee, Louisiana, ETC to change your own State flag to the confederate flag.
Vote wasnt close either, 62% for keeping the flag. Dont blame this shite on other states

I'm with you on anti-cancel culture. You can view any historical figure and find them to be deplorable by judging them from the standards we know, accept, and live by today.
But you lose me with defending the MS flag through a slippery slope argument. It's as simple as should MS as a state use that flag to represent them. I think it's a very easy no.
The cons more heavily outweigh all the pros. I know you and others don't view it as such, but the flag represents a group of people that betrayed their country and fought to keep black people as slaves. And if we can all be honest with ourselves, even if that isn't what it represents to us, it isn't unreasonable at all for other people to view it in that light. That is enough for me to say that I don't think it should be the flag for the state.

Incredible that's a statement from the actual governor. I don't think he realizes what era of MS he lives in. But he'll lose to a Democrat if he continues this charade.

The people that want Mississippi to keep the flag are also the same assholes that say "Thank God we aren't Mississippi".

In 2001? Before the iPhone was a thing? Before the Department of Homeland Security? I think we live in a much different world than 2001. In fact I'd say most of the 61% are dead now.

All of this is planned. Not sure why people don't understand this.
Probably because neither you not anyone else has presented any evidence that this was planned. Nor any motivation as to why Cohen and Hill would conspire to plan such a move.
So, please help the rest of us -- who are not nearly as informed as you -- to understand how this all went down.

Now get Fields' Lawyer and go to the NCAA and claim that the loser, traitorous, treasonous, rebel flag being flown on campus constitutes, a "hostile environment by honoring a treasonous cause that sought to undermine the United States of America" and therefore you should be allowed immediate eligibility at any school that accepts you - regardless of Conference
so when is Georgia changing the state flag?
