Burns was good last year. He developed into a top 5-10 draft pick this year.
Burns was getting drafted no matter what in the top 10 rather he goes to wake or not. Tennessee tried to expand him longer than he was capable of. Wake learned from Tennessee mistakes and made sure to not pitch him hit 6-7 innings. Many times Tennessee left him out their to long and he got knocked around in the 6th+ inning.
Burns ERA his freshman year was 2.91. But regardless he’s sitting at home this year while Tennessee is in Omaha. Burns was a great player with a bad attitude. Tennessee did better without him than they did with him, and that’s a fact.

Thing is about Kling he was the highest rated prospect to ever sign with LSU when he signed
Not even in the top 5. Crews and Bregman were much higher rated than Kling.

Dollander was top 10 pick! I say it worked out just fine for him.
Wouldn’t calling regressing as his K’s per 9 was up and his walks per 9 was down. Dollander admitted himself that HE tried something differently his junior year and it didn’t work like he thought it would. After the season, he went back to his sophomore season the way he threw the ball.

That regression happened his second year at Tennessee.

Yikes and he hasn’t even won a title, or even played for one, yet!

The only one that entered the portal that was an impact player was Burns.
What player that is transferring from LSU is an impact player?
Let me help you Serraneaux #68.... not a single one.

Soon Skenes not only had developed a better slider, but he had added considerable speed to his fastball. Suddenly a fastball that had usually topped out around 95 mph at Air Force was zinging across the plate at 100 mph or more.
Someone posted a link to the write up on page 2 if you want to check it out instead of constantly coming back to the thought he was 98-100 before LSU.

Try 4 fewer years. Vitello has been at UT since 2018

Samuel Dutton in the portal also.
Dutton is not an SEC caliber pitcher.

They can “jump” ship instead of ride the bench. Think Dutton ( game 3 with unc) showed he’s not even close. Kling had a big chance to make a difference and struck out.

Paxton Kling and Sam Dutton both committed to LSU in 2018.

UT is in the CWS and their posters are making posts trolling LSU about its recruits.
This is so sad.
This is so sad.

Actually the exact opposite
Dollander threw 108 Ks and 13 BBs in 2022 in 79 IP
He threw 120 Ks and 30 BBs in 2023 in 89 IP
So that means his K/9 in 2022 was 12.30 and 12.13 in 2023. His BB/9 in 2022 was 1.48 and that number jumped to 3.03 in 2023.
Further, his OppBA went from .175 in 2022 up to .243 in 2023.
His ERA went from 2.39 in 2022 to 4.75 in 2023.
His numbers, quite literally, were substantially worse across the board. Do you just make shite up and hope no one notices?
Dollander also went from the 1st pitcher off the board and potential #1 overall pick to the 3rd pitcher taken and 9th overall pick. Do you know what the difference in signing bonus that was? I'll help you...it was 4.1 million dollars.

After the season he got better coaching apparently

Callis was hopeful for that on draft day.
