Per SEC Sports: HOOVER, Alabama (SEC Network) -- Thanks mostly to the masterful pitching of Kyson Witherspoon, 12-seed Oklahoma upset 5-seed Georgia, 3-2, on Wednesday night at the Hoover Met to advance to the quarterfinals of the SEC Baseball Tournament.
Witherspoon went 7.2 innings, giving up just five hits while striking out eight before running into trouble and exiting after surrendering a home run to Henry Hunter, Georgia's No. 9 hitter, with two outs in the bottom of the eighth.
Hunter's homer drew the Bulldogs to within a single run, but that was as close as they would get.
The game was tied 1-1 when the Sooners broke through for a pair of runs in the top of the sixth.
