re: Kirby is clearly the best coach in the SEC currently. Kiffin is #2. Prove me wrong.

I have my problems with Elko as well. For one, he’s just a fat dude. Have some personal pride
His exit was even more egregious than Kiffin's, he told them he wasn't going anywhere and literally left under the cover of darkness.
He also has jumped around more in the last decade than Kiffin has.

Like I said, have my issues with Elko as well. Do not think he will win anything at A&M. Will do well enough to stay for a long time.

I think he's a good coach. I do question his coordinator decisions though.

How should he have left?

I think he’s good enough. A solid B. Or B-. He wants to keep offensive continuity. We will see how it works out

Um..you are very new to sports aren't you? Holy frick..how homerish do you have to be to think having no playoff wins and 1 major bowl win after coaching at Tenn, USC, Ole Miss is not a technicality..very, very, very good way to quantify a coach. Very, very easy and used in basically every sport that has playoffs

The technicalities are him being a "failure" at Tennessee (he was only there one year) and left, as well as having no playoff appearances.

State your case for another coach at #2.
DeBoer getting no consideration for #2 when he's 2-1 vs Kirby two years into the job is definitely a choice.

1. Kirby
2. Elko
3. Sark
4. Kiffin

2-1 vs. Georgia
2-0 vs. LSU
2-0 vs. Auburn
Second highest winning percentage among current SEC head football coaches.
Second most playoff appearances and playoff wins among current SEC head football coaches.
Has averaged 11 wins per season as an P4 head coach. Has averaged 10 wins per season as a SEC coach.
Most LSU and Auburn fans here are so emotionally crippled by Alabama that their coping mechanism is to reflexively say he is a shitty coach.

You would think ND gets more money in Football than every school...not sure why they are not thriving now..probably easy to google it, but I feel lazy tonight.

You are forgetting the class Kiffen just put together.
SEC FUKKKKKKEEEEDDDDD!
LSU PUMMMMMMPPPPDDDDDD!!!
This is going to be fun to watch. However it goes. It's epic entertainment. Think about it, you can't do this with any other medium like you can with College Football. You have to live through it. They have to play the games. And no matter how much you think you're right, College Football will humble your dumb arse regularly af.

In no form or fashion was Cannion GT’s best WR. Do you just ignore facts and stats. But admittedly he looks good getting off the bus but then very little on field production. You’ll see.
And Kirby was a top tier coach when the bagman system ruled. He learned under Saban and then took Richt’s system and made it better at UGA. I give him huge props for that at UGA. But the worm has turned and suddenly we’ve had 3 years of UGA being just a team with the talent disparity being leveled. Sure, they still have the recruiting to beat the GT’s, Miss St, Florida’s, and South Carolina’s, but when you are losing to ND and Ole Miss the alarm bells should be going off.
And I have distant family ties to Stockton so I root for him, but the offensive coaching is simply not there. Half their success is Stockton improvising. That’s important in some spots throughout a season, like we saw with Mendoza against Miami, but it shouldn’t be what the offense depends on. I saw it with Haynes King. Eventually, the load gets too much for a singular player. UGA will have a chance next season, but nothing I’ve seen from Kirby or Bobo indicates UGA is capable of rolling teams anymore, but they’ll have an experienced QB so thypey have a chance.

Cutcliffe won more bowls than Kiffin and his record was not that far behind.

I have not been all that impressed with Kirby over the last couple of seasons.
Over the past five seasons, Kirby has won 3 SEC Championships and 2 National Championships.
There is not another coach in the entire country that can match that level of success.

"just a team" huh? In the last 3 years he's 36-6 with 2 SEC Champsionships. I don't like to lean on the injury excuse but 2 seasons ago, we lose a semi-final game to Notre Dame when our starting QB went down, or he might would have had his 3rd natty in 5 seasons.
I don't think those stats constitute, "just a team". But think whatever you want.
