Say 8 plays per team, per quarter? That would solve the problem too right?
Don't you think smoking 8 cigarettes is more dangerous than smoking just 1? Where is your logic this morning?

Why weren't these concerns raised during Saban's national championship seasons?

ONE PLAY PER GAME PER OFFENSE. GAME OVER. NO OT. Go back to awarding ties.

I need to put this to a vote.

His power of deductive reasoning is astonishing!

Almost 25% of this country believes the sun travels around the earth. Quite confident Saban falls into this camp. After all the sun rises over there and sets over here, it's obvious.

We don't need no stinking science. Facts and numbers are for pussy's.

Nope, it's the same thing he has been saying for a few years now. He wants the officials to control / slow down the pace of marking the ball ready for play. Simple as that

They were. Shortly after Texas A&M exposed his D, Saban began discussing it. Of course, it wasn't about player safety then, it was simply about style of play.

Then why the sense of urgency to die in a ditch for this cause now?

ALABAMA/SABAN HAS WON 3 OF THE LAST 5 NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS AND IS THE CONSENSUS TOP COLLEGE FOOTBALL PROGRAM IN THE COUNTRY...even the OP's thread title admits it, so DEAL WITH IT!

Wrong.

Everyone gets so worked up about this stuff you are distorting the facts. It's like radical right wingers and left wingers digging in on their talking points, ignoring facts, and just trying to "win" the argument with soundbites.
