Can you provide the years they played in college and which NBA teams they signed contracts with?
Hell, NBA is even irrelevant. Name one that has played college then declared for the draft annd signed anny professional contract, and was allowed to play college again. The answer is none, because there is a specific rule against it that has nothing to do with the rules around European pros.

It wasn’t like Oats did this in the offseason. He was doing something unprecedented in the middle of the season to get a competitive advantage and fix a big hole on his roster. Again, in the middle of a season. Then Oats turns around and acts like he’s a victim trying to fix a problem. It’s laughable.
Oats had every opportunity to get a 20 year old Serbian who played the equivalent of AAU professionally to join his team like everyone else in the country.

He IS the victim - the impartial judge ALREADY issued the TRO and then the CORRUPT and DUMB barners got upset since they have to continually LEASE space in their 600 seater HIGH SCHOOL GYM from Nate himself. If there’s ANYONE to blame it’s STEPHEN PEARL since he sucks and now the lowly barners must FOCUS on something other than their ABYSMAL team.

He started a thread to make fun of Bruce Pearl. I can only imagine how confusing an internet message board must be when someone is clearly illiterate.

On one hand, we may not have Golden if Pearl doesn't talk him into taking the UF job.
On the other hand...snitches get stitches.

I’m a disabled veteran. Actually did TDY with the IDF. Why don’t you take a tour of the Holocaust Museum in D.C., think about why Israel was created in the first place, and get back to me. I’ll stop right here before this gets away from SEC sports. Bruce Pearl is OK with me.

Hi we are talking about Bruce Pearl in the context of cheating at NCAA basketball his entire career. By my count he cheated over 6 million times over a span of five years which may sound impossible to you.

I'm no fan of Bediako coming back; I get that his pro career didn't reach the levels he had hoped but I put it right there with players getting extra eligibility after being in college for 4, 5, or 6 years. Move on.
That said, Pearl is the last one who should say anything. He's stretched the rules so thin they're practically transparent.

I did admit it. I get that reading comprehension isn't a necessity to get admitted to Auburn, but do try and keep up.
My point is - eligibility is eligibility. If you use it up due to tenure or due to going pro, you're done.
This is one of the problems with NIL - the majority of players get paid more in college than they will trying to make the pros, so they're going to try and stay on for as long as possible.

Nobody here likes covid seasons.
But comparing it to Bediako as if they are apples to apples is the real problem here...
Bediako is like covid season bad on super saiyan steroids.
A 5th year guy gets popular and makes money in his super senior year. Swell. Now get lost.
Next Pavia- a popular 5th year guy gets paid and is like "no, I am not leaving. The money is just now pouring in. " Nobody wants that. Pavia cried his way into some BS rules about juco getting changed.
Now Bediako is worst than Pavia. He left Bama three years ago, and decides when his career is about written "I still want in on that money, so let me back in. I'll play hard coach!" And Bama fans are bitching because the commissioner wouldn't back them on this idea that would degrade an otherwise pretty strong sport.

Oats might be the biggest scum bag of a coach in SEC history. He makes Urban Meyer look ethical
Posted on 2/12/26 at 3:20 pm to skrayper
quote:Exactly. Bediako’s case is terrible because he expressly waived his right to further eligibility by playing college and entering the draft. He knew he couldn’t return. But Nate used his arse to try to get a cheap competitive advantage.
My point is - eligibility is eligibility. If you use it up due to tenure or due to going pro, you're done.
I don’t really blame Bediako- kind of feel sorry for him in a way. Hope whatever NIL he was promised is still paid out.
I blame Nate trying to pull this off and Byrne signing off on it. Now, they are acting like they are somehow victims in all of this. It’s pathetic and cheap.

LSU was easily the most hated SEC school after the Kiffin shite but bama had to go and one up them.
