Lane Kiffin has already ended Dabo Swinney’s career. Dabo just doesn’t know it yet.

And Kalen DeBoer is next.

People are going to laugh at that, but give it time.

Clemson spent years living off the reputation Dabo built during that incredible run with Watson and Lawrence. But college football changed, the portal changed roster construction, NIL changed recruiting, and Dabo kept acting like Clemson was somehow above all of it. Then Lane Kiffin comes along representing almost the exact opposite philosophy: aggressive in the portal, willing to adapt, willing to rebuild a roster overnight, and completely comfortable with what modern college football has become.

That contrast is going to look worse and worse for Dabo.

But Alabama is where this gets really interesting.

Kalen DeBoer inherited the most unforgiving job in college football. At Alabama, winning 9 or 10 games isn't necessarily success. You're following Nick Saban. You're being judged against championships, Georgia, LSU, Tennessee, Auburn and whatever other SEC program is hot at the moment.

And now you've got Lane Kiffin lurking.

Kiffin understands the SEC. He understands recruiting in the South. He understands the portal. He understands offense. He understands how to sell a program. And unlike 2010 Lane Kiffin, he's now been through enough failures and rebuilds to know how to run a major program.

That's why I think Lane Kiffin is going to end up being connected to the downfall of TWO major coaching tenures.

Dabo Swinney will eventually be remembered as a great coach who refused to adapt quickly enough to the era that replaced the one he dominated.

And Kalen DeBoer?

Lane Kiffin is going to be the beginning of the end of his tenure at Alabama.

Bookmark it.

The funniest part will be when Alabama eventually decides it needs a coach who understands the SEC, embraces the portal, can recruit nationally, can handle the circus, and can produce elite offenses...

...and everybody suddenly realizes the obvious candidate has been standing right there the entire time.

That's a lot of words to show you are concerned about another Bama coach.

This is DeBoer's 3rd season at Bama. What's Kiffin's record against him?

There's a reason Saban didn't recommend him for the Bama job. I think we're all seeing why now. There's ONE university Saban loves and doesn't want to see destroyed.

Not just us fans. Kiffin would have crawled over broken glass to be Saban's successor but he was never even taken into consideration by the administration. Saban advised against it if I recall.

Hell yeah.

And the last 2 weeks more than proves why.

Your school/boosters just spent a shite ton of money on the Kelly buyout, paying for Kiffin, paying for the most expensive roster and so on.

And Kiffin comes along and damn nears gets you kicked out of the conference over a couple of rejected NFL players who would be backups.

And the entire case is him publicly giving testimony on how and why he is breaking the rules.

Because apparently, he doesn't have enough to do, so he's like you know what? We should make ourselves the poster boy for everything wrong in college sports and then we should shake our dicks at everyone while doing it.

For BACKUPS.

You give the guy a layup and he's fricking show boating back at the free throw line about to drop the fricking ball.

He's fricking toxic.
