Who has the better game plan? Better schemes, players, and mismatches?

Green will be a huge part of the offense, but so will Dilin Jones. We may see Leavitt keep the ball more on designed plays. Harris is a big deep threat WR that Bama may need to figure out how they can double team him or Green.
I think Alabama offense can move the ball against our defense if Russell pulls a Fran Tarkenton and adlibs a lot of plays. I don't think the Bama run game will have much success so more falls on Russell's shoulders.

Looks like Weeks may be out this game. If I were Grubb, I would create mismatches with Keys at LB. That's probably his best route to go.

I said all that to say this...I think it will be a close game most of the afternoon/evening, but I think Lane goes for it on 4th down late in the game then seals it with a TD or FG.

Hell, this is easy. LSU

Our OC calls plays like he's playing Madden PS5. It's not hard to figure out.

I have no idea what Alabama is going to look like. I know what they can look like, from great to bad.

I think LSU better hope Alabama doesn't come out great, and I better hope they do.

I think they're pretty evenly matched teams when both are on.

If one is off, then it could get ugly.

The biggest knock on Baker has been running QBs. So far this season

Clemson: 4 yards (Vizzina) and -9 yards (Reynolds)
La Tech: 2 yards
OM: 2 yards
A&M: - 13 yards
McNeese: 0 yards
UK: 12 yards
MSU: 40 yards (HA!)
Aub: 20 yards

Whit got injured in the A&M game. Baker has been significantly improved in this aspect this season.

I worry a little about LSU guard play against bama D line. If they give Sam time, he will find guys open eventually. Just gotta live with one or two bone headed decisions from him. I’m not sure lsu will have a ton of success running against that bama D though. Offensively, Russell is extremely talented with huge upside. He’s been a markedly different player on the road this year and gets sacked a good bit. Hopefully tiger stadium will rattle him as the tigers have destroyed teams ant home this year. Bama weakness appears to be their O line at times. Should be a good matchup if both teams bring their A game.

I think this is Bamas best chance to win. We have a very capable running game, but it’s rarely used because Grubb is an idiot. I honestly think the best athlete on either team is EJ Crowell, but we’ll be lucky if he gets 5 carries. That’s why I think it’s important for Russell to make a lot of plays with his legs. Unfortunately he’ll have to be our running game. Not sure if Ryan Williams will play much or not, but he’s always a big factor because defenses have to pay attention to him. Defensively for Alabama, it won’t be much easier. Bama has to hope Leavitt turns the ball over. The LSU tightened is a huge mismatch problem for whoever gets assigned to him. Bama does have some tall athletic corners, but I doubt Womack has any type of plan to slow down the guy. We’ll probably have one of our pass rushers covering him. I’ve read that the defensive tackle, Terrance Green, will play Saturday. If so, that’s huge for Bama and stopping the run. If they can slow down LSU’s running game and make them one dimensional, I think Bama can keep it close. So basically I have zero confidence in this coaching staff.

I do know one thing, if Alabama rolls out the same defensive game plan they had vs Tennessee, they're cooked.

Our defensive gameplan against Tennessee actually worked pretty well. The problem was that the offense had only one drive the entire game that lasted more than 5 plays.

I mean you gave up 26 points and 347 yards to an okay offense with a backup quarterback. They had 20 first downs.

Imagine if they score a couple more touchdowns instead of kicking 4 field goals.

Bama's defensive front hasn't been superb at generating pressure on the road. Less than 2 sacks per game. TFL is ~4 p/g. The Tide are allowing around 160 rushing y/g on the road. Ouch.

By comparison, LSU is giving up right at 1 sack p/g and 4 TFL p/g at home.

Bama's averaging around 3.5 sacks allowed on the road and giving up more than 7 TFL p/g. Another ouch.

LSU is generating over 4 sacks p/g and nearly 9 TFL p/g at home.

I believe Tennessee had like an 8 minute drive at the end of the game. It was prolonged by an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty on #5, But what pissed me off was we had a 3 man front at the start of the drive and only 6 in the box. Everyone knew Tennessee was trying to burn clock. I really don’t understand why so many Bama fans support Womack. I like the guy, but I hate his defensive scheme. Bend don’t break don’t work when you’re down double digits in the 4th quarter. Heck, it doesn’t ever work unless you have a 30 point lead

True. Bama's been getting 115 ypg on the road. The problem is LSU has only been giving up 62 ypg at home. If Bama hits the century mark, that would be a major, major accomplishment against Baker's squad in Tiger Stadium

TD Green might be the best athlete in CFB. He already had the basketball skills. Now Kiffin and Co have made him into a very good blocker.

No one does. He's a freak of nature.

I said this in another thread, when I started diving into the stats, I had to begrudingly admit Bama was very very good. And I took the ESPN blind resume test twice. Both times I scored Bama highly. Not 5 but still squarely in the playoffs right now. I think DeBoer and staff have done a very good job in an impossible situation. It's an elite staff. Having said that, I do think Bama is sliding just a bit in the last 3 games whereas LSU appears to be hitting a higher gear.
