That the point - there is no way to know how the game will play out - you take a sure 3 from the 5 yard line - you take a sure 7 point lead by going to half or risk turning the ball over . . . which they did -

Kiffin isn’t the only one making those calls, IMO we’ve swung from coaching being way too conservative back in the day to being i think overly aggressive at times now. While it may be true that if you run it 1,000 times the more aggressive call is the “correct” one, it’s a small sample size sport and a miss can derail a game or even a season. I think soon coaches will start coming back to the mean.

i’ll never forget Brian Billick in 2007 was up 3 last against the winless dolphins had a 4th and goal from the 1 and elected to kick the field goal to go up 6. Miami took the ball went down and got a TD for their only win of the Cam Cameron era. Stuff like THAT should never come back but the game isn’t played in a lab, either.

Kiffin wasn't out of pocket with any aggression in this game. Most coaches try to get the field goal before the half. The 4th down decision on the goalline was following his kicker missing a pretty short fg.

bullshite. Kiffin coached a good to great game. Even with the miscues his team should've won. But, the biggest issue with Ole Miss this season is (drumroll) Jaxon Dart. Dart simply isn't getting it done in crunch time. He folded against Kentucky and he folded against LSU. I don't understand how Dart isn't getting more criticism.

He's having an average year. Biggest issue is internal OL and secondary play though.

Average, yes, but in crunch time he's been terrible.

You could also argue that he put his faith in his players and they failed him. If they make the FG, don't drop a 80 yard TD, and pass block better then they win by multiple scores.

Coach decisions are only deemed "good" or "bad" by whether they work or not, apparently.

He had nothing to do with the dropped TD pass and missed FG, both of which would've won the game for the Rebs.

In fact, it was his coaching which got the Rebels in those positions to begin with.

The average football fan doesn't understand aggression and analytics. Plus, they just want something to blame. Or in this case troll about.

TLDR - Most football fans are stupid.

Kiffin didn't do anything wrong.

100th anniversary Tiger Stadium voodoo beat him. And would have beaten anybody else.

Ultimately in the end Tiger Stadium did them in . And that is the truth along with strong defense.

Ole Miss missed some opportunities but all the OM and LSU people I've spoken to said the atmosphere in Tiger Stadium was fricking electric. A few said top 3 all time environment but all agreed top 5. The crowd made the difference in that game.
