72/6 is way more than I expected from OM if true.

That would put him ahead of Ryan Day.

It would also put him ahead of Mel Tucker (seriously wtf is up with his salary)

Rumor is the contract would make Lane the 5th highest paid coach in the nation.

That makes more sense than them saying top-10.

Kiffin about to be (more) rich either way.

Holy crap - never realized they signed him for a 10 year $95 million contract.

Sigh, geez, start a separate thread for the dumbass fight about which state is worse.

Anyways, getting things back on track, where do we think this would land him?

He was already #11 ( LINK here)).

If they’re saying top 10, my guess is he’ll be just outside the top 5, which would put him north of $9MM.

Personally I think hate this move. Why make it so close? Just make it categorically the best offer he will get right now at north of $10MM so we can lock him up and move the frick on.

Wouldn't 12 AAV make him the highest paid in CFB for at least the moment?

Lane is definitely a better value than Tucker

But quite a few could claim that.

All speculation, but I thought rumor was we were going north of 10. Maybe a back and forth situation?

Not sure, honestly, the clock is ticking for us so I think we learn the truth one way or the other pretty quickly.

Lane will coach at the school that gives him the best chance to elevate his profile. Just in the West, you expect LSU, Auburn and A&M to improve their programs. That will cause Lane to slip down the pole at Ole Miss.

I’m not sure it is. Unfortunately I think Auburn has the upper hand because right now it looks like we’re just negotiating against ourselves.

I'm sure he knows what Auburn is willing to do. So I think the clock is ticking for Lane. He negotiates and/or signs the extension or he's going to take an offer he knows the terms of toward the end of next week.

But if he knows what both schools are willing to do, why wait until next week?

Well documented by fools who don't read anything in the press. Everyone has been connected on the list.

The city of Auburn has been on many lists of the Top 100 places live in the country. Also draw a circle of 150 miles from the center of town. See what that area is like.
