Finished #5 Nationally, 4 straight bowl wins, very good recruiting, and Heisman trophy winner. All with crappy facilities, an old stadium, and while transitioning to the best division in college football.

Woah. This is the first time I've seen someone try and defend Kevin Sumlin's contract in a long time.

Because he has achieved the same results as Les Miles during his time at A&M, and has done so while costing A&M less than LSU on total coaching staff salary?

Not defending his contract. I'm just pointing out the obvious to uneducated trolls on this board. Ultimately the market dictates salary, but to say he hasn't done anything is ignorant. He's paid less than Saban and a little more than the "dead man walkin" at LSU. He has had opportunities to leave for the NFL, but was rewarded for staying at A&M while they completed the facility upgrades.

Aggy sure does have a strange definition of "same".

He was a hot commodity coming off a successful season beyond what aTm had experienced in some time. They felt they had the coin to pay him and felt it was worth it. Time will tell whether or not it was a good decision.
