It doesn't matter if he has it if the umpire calls balls in the other batters box strikes. But I don't see how you can be the number 1 team and only have 1 pitcher who has to throw every game and with no regard for life and limb. Seems pretty desperate. Arky is like a girls softball team.

We won 21-2 on Friday and didn’t need him. If he’s your best player, you want to use him for potentially the last game of the year.

Kopps hasn’t “thrown every game” all year except for like 2-3 series. He didn’t throw every game last weekend or this weekend.

I don’t really like it but that’s pretty badass if true.

Poor strategy if it is true.

Starting him seems like a bad move. This feels like something a big underdog would do. You need him fresh for the end. Feels desperate.

rich4pres,

Oh just because the Vols beat LSU you all think you have the right to talk smack. We'll meet in the CWS finals and will still beat you!

Musselman has been out there every game to try and figure out where he can use him too.

He's our best player. If there's one player I have complete confidence in, it's him.

I get that but why put him in a situation that he has not been in all season? He is a reliever not a starter. It always risky to change what has gotten you to this point.

We will see what happens.

So what if he struggles to settle in in the first as a starter and he gives up 2-3 runs and you have to pull him.

If it were me I’d start somebody else I trust to get me through an inning or 2 pretty cleanly that typically is a starter and then put in Kopps in the 2nd or 3rd.

That’s the thing, our third starter Pallette went down with injury a month ago. Our options are a true freshman who throws 99, but inconsistent, or a dude that’s 30 that’s the best pitcher in baseball.

We don't have anyone else good enough to get to past seven innings. We struggle just to get the 4th and 5th without a bad inning.

So here’s the deal. I know you would assume Arkansas would have a couple of those to spare because they’ve been the best team all year but…not so much.

Hope Arky takes up a love offering for this dude’s arm during the 7th inning stretch.

This move reeks of desparation by DVH. He totally fricked up yesterday and now he's overcompensating and it's going to backfire. Kopps is not a starter for a reason. It's a different vibe and energy.

The question still remains that I posed yesterday at the time. You had a 2-1 lead in the 3rd inning. You have Kopps. Why the frick didn't you bring him in for 7 innings and just end the series then.

And don't give me the whol "oh, but you don't have him for game 3" bullshite. If you believe in him, he's not going to give up a run and he's going to win the series right then and there.
