Couple that with one of the best offensive lines in the country, Chris Rodriguez, Wandale Robinson and we might have a decent team if Levis is as advertised. I really don’t know if we are going to be good or not, but listening to Stoops last night, he is the most confident I’ve ever heard him.

If Levis is serviceable, you guys should be pretty decent.

honest question - how has the change in blocking scheme progressed for your OL?

past 4 or 5 seasons with coach Schlarman - UK OL mastered the inside zone rushing attack and now with the new Rams coach/OC - Eric Wolford is having to teach outside zone reads/blocking.

quote:

“It’s definitely a big adjustment. It takes a different skill set,” Fortner says. “The angles you take, the ‘get offs’ you have and just the way you are working together is a lot different.”

Wolford says he expects a veteran Kentucky offensive line used to a different style of play to need adjustment time.

“When you run the wide zone, that is your primary bread-and-butter play,” Wolford said. “It takes a lot of work (to master). It’s something you’ve got to learn. It’s not something you just instill and learn it overnight.”

From all accounts they’re doing pretty well. IMO that has a lot to do with the fact that our offensive line has routinely been our most talented (in terms of recruiting stars) position under Stoops and has a decently high football IQ.

No, we aren’t interested in calling out Bama or Georgia, but I think Florida and LSU could be in for a fight if the don’t give us their full attention. 10-2 is probably our ceiling, but it’s doable and that could put us in a New Years 6, at UK, that’s like a national title.

Bama ducked us. LSU sacked up and rotated onto our schedule this year.

thanks Belle

Wolf did a fine job at USC the past couple of seasons. he's got more experience/talent in Lex to work with this year than he had in Cola.

I know Stoops wanted to find a spark for the offense, but it's gonna be hard to improve on what Schlarman's guys were consistently doing in the run game in a 'if it ain't broke don't fix it' way. I was kinda surprised to hear new OC was shaking things up in the ground game to go along with what he'll do to crank up the air attack for UK.

I don’t like this Kansas guy that always feels the need to chime in. I know he’s butt hurt because due to his football team being the worst program in the history of power 5 football, they won’t get a Big Ten invite and their precious basketball program is destined to a life in the AAC. Enjoy those Tuesday night battles with Tulsa.

You can’t argue with my original statement. Furthermore, we would’ve beaten Vanderbilt last year so we’re not the worst.
