Ky fans type just like they talk. Broken English and all. You just know you are talking to a high school drop out or GED recipient

It works for Alabama except that we actually put an emphasis on getting to the rim for lay ups first. If the lay up isn't there it's a kick out for a 3. It does make you more susceptible to losing if you have an off night from the 3 pt line especially when you get matched up with a team that can lock you down on defense.

And yet you didn’t even spell out the word Kentucky.

So the quickest way to be competitive in CBB is to bring in shooters. As said, you end up living and dying by it so it’s not a long term solution.
Given how late Pope came to Kentucky in the grand scheme of recruiting and the portal, I suspect it won’t be as three heavy going forward as this season (even if they shoot higher than the average team). He’s got guys coming in that can score inside the arc.
The question is going to be can he have better defensive teams? I think he can if just by the nature of bringing in some talented, athletic guys. I wouldn’t be surprised if we see a potential opening on the coaching staff for a defensive coach.

Pope is playing with house money this season. This team is what it is considering how little time he had to assemble the roster. We've had some huge wins and some meh losses. All in all its been a fun season and I'm glad Pope is here. Cal is washed up.

So you cut off my comment and call it broken English?

You guys really are desperate looking here.

Yep, and I think Kentucky fans mostly realize this. He started with one commit in mid April, and assembled a very competent overall team. Now we have injuries, no PG and are struggling some.
5-1 vs top 20 teams, and 1-5 against unranked teams. Wow, who would have thought that.
This is the learning season, we are okay with that.

Actually we played better vs Michigan. Who is a better team than Kentucky

You shot 52% from 3 against us, 13-25
Similar FG% in each game. You guys had a higher FT% against us.
But yeah, other than that you played better against Michigan

Don't provide facts. Facts don't matter to starving fans

They got every call in this game and still got their arse handed to them at home, wheels about to fall off

Given how late Pope came to Kentucky in the grand scheme of recruiting and the portal,
I've seen a number of people giving grace to Pope this year because he was hired late and had to build a roster almost from scratch beginning in April.
Meanwhile, those same people are not extending that same grace to Cal, who arrived in Fayetteville in April to zero players on his roster. The only returning player on this year's team is Brazile who was in the portal when Cal got to Arkansas. Cal had the benefit of 3 recruits who switched their commitments to follow him, along with a couple of KY players who came with him. Then he had to mine the portal just like everyone else. On its best day, his roster had 9 players. On most days, at least one of those guys was sidelined with an injury. Nelly Davis had a nagging wrist injury, and we are only just now seeing his shooting round back into form. Jonas Aidoo has struggled with a leg injury, and you can really see how it's affected his mobility. Boogie is out for the season. Not only does that hurt during games, but practices can't be as effective when you can't go 5 on 5.
None of us is excited to be 2-6 in league play, but if folks are giving Pope a pass at KY for having a patchwork roster put together at the last minute, then the same should apply to Cal.

All together he had 7 guys come with him to Arkansas (Fland, Knox, Richmond as former UK recruits, Wagner, Thiero, Z, Watkins as transfers from UK). Cal also had Brazile come back to play under him.
Pope had 1 transfer from BYU (Jaxson Robinson) and one Kentucky recruit stay (Travis Perry). No one else stayed. That was literally it.
It's two totally different scenarios. If you want to give Cal grace for his first season, I'm not saying you shouldn't. But it's really not that comparable.

And the years before?
The same was true with an early exit.
Alabama has gone to 2 sweet 16s and 1 final four in the last 4 seasons. 97% of programs would happily take that.

The 3 recruits that came with Cal don't count - just as the one recruit for Pope really doesn't count. They'd never played college ball, so we have no idea how they're going to pan out.
So, Cal brought 4 guys from KY, and Pope only had 1 follow him. That is really the only advantage in Cal's favor. And I'd argue the adjustment of moving to a new town, new campus, new housing, etc. is not much different than any other portal player - except for their coach remains constant.
Brazile staying to play for Cal is no different from Nelly transferring in because Brazile didn't know Cal's system or his culture. Even though he'd played here 2 seasons already, he was more a "newcomer" than Thiero or Z.

Same Arkansas team that lost to LSU. Thanks by the way for the win.

Cal finished 1st or 2nd every year in the SEC minus 3 years out of those 15 at Kentucky.
He finished 4th once, 3rd once and 8th once.
Pope won’t come close to matching what Cal did in 15 years. Heak Pope won’t finish 2nd like Cal did last year

I think he meant as a team offensively, defenselty, and effort. Not just on offense.
