Ah. Matt Jones on the tweeter:

Mark Stoops says on radio that Kelvin Joseph asked not to play this week...Stoops said he couldn’t have him standing around just not playing so The decision was made for him to opt out

He was stirring up stuff all day. I saw Stoops dress him down on the sideline after y'all got a turnover because he obviously did something wrong. He got a penalty on another turnover when he shoved Trask after the play. Probably be good for the locker room even if he is a talent on the field.

Some Cats fans are worried this may be a sign the locker room has been lost. Personally, I’m thinking this may be heading off that very problem.

If it's only Joseph, I wouldn't worry about that too much. He's always been a shithead. I wouldn't worry about it being a locker room issue with him.

Do NFL GMs not look at that stuff and think “Man, he seems like a pussy. I don’t want him”

It doesn't seem to be affecting player's draft status when they don't play in bowl games. It will be interesting to see how it impacts drafts this year.

I wouldn't call him a pussy. But NFL GMs will certainly find out how much of a headache he is once they talk to Orgeron and Stoops. Leaving one school when facing suspension after being a brat for 2 years only to be essentially asked to leave his next landing spot before the season is even over doesn't bode well for the character issue red flags. And he's not good enough for NFL GMs to overlook that.

Well one problem we had with him is he wasn't good enough to play corner and he refused to move to safety. That and he wouldn't quit smoking weed. He transferred to avoid suspension and COVID presented him with a great opportunity to play immediately somewhere else.

Good on Stoops for calling him on that shite.

Had a OL coach that literally coached until the day he died and this guy opts out with one regular season game left? frick that.

It’ll save us some unnecessary penalties.

So this moron didn't want to play, just watch
from the sideline ? Yeah that would have
been a big morale booster for his teammates.

Normally, I would agree with you. If it's true he ASKED not to play the last game of the regular season and he's not injured, that could be a problem with pro scouts. Declining to play in a bowl game is one thing; asking to sit out before season is over is another.

This sends a terrible message to the NFL's front office and coaches. You don't build teams with attitudes like this.
