Acuff is playing a lot of hero ball for sure and putting up big numbers
but it kind of feel like he has to for Arky to win those big games
How so? Maleek Thomas had like 25 last night and averages just under 20. I'd say without Billy Richmond, we would be much worse.

Ill also throw John Wall in strong consideration. He was incredible under Calipari. SEC POY, SEC ROY, Led UK to an Elite 8.
The hill I will die on is if Kentucky had Meeks, that squad rolls to a Final Four or better under Wall’s direction. They missed that money shooter at the 3 that season.

Cal is riding him like a rented mule. It wouldn't be the first time he wore the legs off his PG. Those 50 minutes last night will show up in when it counts.
I truly don't think you guys will get over Cal.

Rose dragged Memphis to a NCAA championship game appearance.
Yet they had CDR who was a 1st team all American, so let's not act like it was Danny and the Miracles or just Rose alone. That team had Dorsey as well, who was a beast. Dozier was drafted, and Anderson was the tournament MVP and the only player other than Penny to have a triple double at Memphis.

Wanted him gone long before he left, so thanks to the University of Calipari for taking him in.

Hopefully you realize that 2 rotational players didn’t play for Arkansas last night and 4 players fouled out. 2 walk ons played that had played a combined total of 30 minutes all year He kind of had to play the entire game.

We are going to need another guard next year. This is great news.

....Derrick Rose? Without the injuries that guy was on track to be a top 10 player all time potentially.
Sorry, but this kid isn't better than Rose
Acuff is Steve Nash w a darker tan. He can create any point he wants. It's silly what this teen is doing.

What are we doing here??
Let’s not act like Rose drug the equivalent of this years Ole Miss squad to the title game.
Memphis teams under Cal were perpetually stacked with top talent. They had gone to the EE back to back years prior to Rose.
That team was 38-1 heading into the natty

As far as NBA, SGA was last years MVP so he should be considered.
Look Acuff is the real deal. No doubt about it.

The Hill I Will Die On is that against a 1-3-1 ... all that West Virginia played ... you don't shoot over 30 threes while the less that six foot guard (Joe Mazzulla) holds DeMarcus Cousins in the paint. Literally holds him - grabs jersey and shorts all game.
Who cares ? Post Cousins deep and just feed the big son-of-a-bitch. Every damn possession.
I knew - then - that Calipari's only hope was to have superior talent, every year.

I think what Perk was saying is that he’s calipari’s best guard as a college player , not NBA, cause if ya go by the numbers he maybe. It’s inpossible to say that if you’re including the NBa when SGA has a MVP and what Rose accomplished. But I think he was referring to “best” player in the college sense even thou he said he’d draft him 1st pick this year

What I'd tell Kendrick Perkins is "who cares" ?
The most important guard in John Calipari's time at Kentucky was Tyler Ulis. The guard he wouldn't play while the Harrison Twins were pissing away a six-point lead with a string of turn-overs and shot clock violations against Wisconsin.
And then I'd make a sandwich while Kendrick Perkins gave his reply. Then I'd play the audio on fast-forward just so I could understand it.

quote:This is such a retarded take. Of course he played 50 minutes in a double OT game where so many people fouled out we were having to play walk-ons. He didn't have a choice.

so thanks to the University of Calipari for taking him in.
Every place he’s been has been the university of calipari, he gets the players no matter where he is no denying that. I’ve never been a fan of his since he was at Memphis but I’m not mad at him for what he’s bringing here.
We’re getting players now every year that we’d only get once in a blue moon or longer. It’s fun to watch and a great hire after muss left.

That's not true. That team had scorers all over the court. CDR was the leading scorer, not Rose.

He didn’t call UK the University of Calipari, he did say that about Arkansas.
He about got ran out of town after his first year for calling his first draft night “the most important night in UK’s history”. A lot of fans never forgave him for that even after winning a title. Still a touchy subject.
Tip of the hat for admitting you were never a fan, most wouldn't.
And speaking of, I liked Muss and thought he was a heck of a coach, but understand why he headed west.
