Was gonna post this sooner, but decided to wait until the rant was reopened. Bama shot themselves in the foot several times, but Auburn hung in there and stood toe to toe and won the game out right. I would wish you best of luck from here on out, but that would be insincere, as I wish you to fall on your face. I would expect no different from you if the shoe was on our foot.

Much hate, but equally as much respect. Incredible game to cap off an incredible regular season for you guys, and you deserve to celebrate and be proud.

That's a bit of an understatement. Bama became the ONLY team in the FBS to go 0-4 on field goals this year, and only one team did that last year and it was UCONN.

No, that is actually biologically incapable for us. Alabama is naturally superior, but we're not incapable of shitting the bed.

Either you didn't watch the game, or you really suck at trolling.

Maybe a little bit of both, but clearly Bama shot themselves in the foot at least a couple of times.

You gotta give it to the Auburn players and coaching staff though. They could have easily folded in this and the UGA games. They gutted it out, stuck around, and won 'em both. Hats off to the team.

Given that Griffith came reasonably close to making a 57 yarder, I'm not really sure why he wasn't already kicking all the field goals, but that's not my call and it's in the past anyway.

This. When Bama went up 21-7, I really felt like we were close to breaking it open, but they refused to break.

Saban is the best coach of this era, but it was not one of his better games

I've come to the conclusion that he is one of, if not the best preparation coaches in the game, because he hates tight games. I think it gives him anxiety. He tends to make questionable calls in tight games. I think it's nerves. I still wouldn't trade him for any other coach in the game.

I've seen that a bunch in football over the years. One player has the leg, but not the accuracy.

Good teams don't shoot themselves in the foot. That's really shitty shooting.

agreed. He was like that at LSU. In the SEC you are not going to dominate every game. The only person I saw who dominated nearly everybody in the SEC was Spurrier at UF

no doubt. Most LSU fans would love him back in BR as well

What he is saying is that Auburn didn't actually beat Bama; Bama beat themselves and Auburn just hung around to pick up the pieces.
Freaking gumps are so funny.

If Foster is accurate, then what does that make Griffith?

All I hear from any UA fan is how they " beat themselves", and " shot themselves in the foot". How quickly you forget that HALF your 28 points came directly from Auburn mistakes. The fumble and the horribly missed tackle on the 99 yard pass. While I appreciate the congrats and modesty I see from some, I think everyone needs to accept the fact that you didn't beat yourselves, you GOT BEAT. I'm not trying to rub it in, just tired of the excuses.

Griffith was the #1 kicker out of high school and most of us expected him to start right away (actually we were looking forward to it as he was an incoming signee while Shelly was botching the LSU game of the century in Bryant Denny). But Cade won out and was decent all season long..... and you know what, if you've ever seen him in person, he's a big strong dude, maybe he'd have been able to run down the return. who knows.

I think Griffith will be an outstanding FG for Bama in the coming years. I'd parallel it to throwing AJ in the 2010 Iron Bowl in a pretty hopeless situation.
