I once called in and won a some concert tickets on a morning radio's "Guess that tune" contest. Couldn't believe the people wrongly guessing what was obviously the opening riff of "That'll Be The Day"
I was dropped in right in the middle a year ago and... I don't know, maybe it was just the right episode but I was hooked and watched till the end of the season, constantly looking up Wikipedia and google when something confusing happened (spoiling myself to just about everything in the process)

The world GRRM created is so deep and interesting (like real world history on acid) that I would almost say it's spoiler proof (YES I know many will disagree) in that even knowing what's going to happen, I can't friggin wait to see HOW it happens.

Anyways, then I went back and watched the whole thing from season one to it's completion and knowing what's going to happen makes it almost like watching prequels.
unless Christian Bale is fictional, no (I'm choosing this fight because no one can top Batman)

FICTIONAL Brit.

who immediately came to mind when I said those words...

Harry Potter

James Bond

The Doctor

Sherlock

other?
If Saban has faith in them, that's good enough for me.

It's been a long time since there was a... Jonathan Bornstein on our team.

no year will ever touch 1939

if you want the BEST

you can't have slashes

agreed, even if not to produce elite level, the college game has supplied the US with solid talent and quality depth for a while now, no reason they can't continue to serve that purpose and increase the player pool. There should at least be a waiver that lets them go out for trials or compete in the summer... but that's a battle a lot of other sports are fighting too so, yeah.
Intent was not one of my variables

but if it's the only distinguishing factor, then so be it.
Taken as serious cinema and technique.... which film is the most egregious violator of film, failing in every aspect and way?

I do dislike how most top 10s of decades simply omit comedy.

And it really wasn't just the 90s, that whole era bleeding over into the late 80s and early 00s was pretty good.
really? I can't stand 70s and 90s with a few exceptions. Way too much disco and grunge crap.
For me, probably a hand full of baseball games at the Joe in the mid 90s (Jim Wells' hey day) when it was always packed, great atmosphere and a great product on the field. The fans were knowledgeable and it was a wonderful way to be a Bama fan with football over.

Best Basketball game ever was in 2002 in Coleman against Florida to secure the SEC Title. Tension from the word go, lots of standing (even the olds) and Mark's Madness at it's peak. Great stuff, rushed the court, lives forever on youtube.

I'd tie that with this year's Gymnastics championship in Birmingham, we didn't win but that was the loudest and best crowd I've witnessed at a women's athletic event.
I think male gymnastics has some sort of waiver since training is needed year round to stay competitive with China and at the time, the USSR.
great idea. As long as we have club academies too, I see no harm in college soccer trying whatever useful ways to make itself relevant. kudos

Weird Al is finally #1

According to Nielsen SoundScan, it (Mandatory Fun) sold just over 104,700 copies in the week ending in July 20, making "Mandatory Fun" Yankovic's first No. 1 album.

A career in a genre that is barely given much respect, Al, an artist who has had hits in every decade since the 80s, finally has a #1 hit album in Mandatory Fun.

He made his break parodying Madonna and Michael Jackson and used the power of social media and the internet in an age where anyone with iMovie and a phone can put out a parody of a hit song.

Kudos to Al for sustained excellence, marketing savy and talent. Never stop being a weirdo.
