we left about 20+ points on the field between text book field goals and on the button wide open passes that were dropped in the endzone. If you make mistakes, you will pay. If you make mistakes against a good opponent, you will lose.

What he is saying is that Auburn didn't actually beat Bama; Bama beat themselves and Auburn just hung around to pick up the pieces. Freaking gumps are so funny.

Right, that's why I said they won the game out right. Learn to read, dumbass.

All I hear from any UA fan is how they " beat themselves", and " shot themselves in the foot". How quickly you forget that HALF your 28 points came directly from Auburn mistakes. The fumble and the horribly missed tackle on the 99 yard pass. While I appreciate the congrats and modesty I see from some, I think everyone needs to accept the fact that you didn't beat yourselves, you GOT BEAT. I'm not trying to rub it in, just tired of the excuses.

I'm not really sure how pointing out facts is an excuse. An excuse would be blaming the refs. Careless penalties and missing some close range field goals is shooting yourself in the foot.

and AU missed two wide open TD passes... I get it, you're not used to making so many mistakes, but we had more than our fair share, too. Maybe I'm just being a sore winner but I don't want anyone acting even vaguely like we didn't earn it.

But they wouldn't have won the game out right if Bama hadn't shot themselves in the foot, would they? And who knew that they would hang around? Teams aren't supposed to to that against Bama?

It's becoming clear that Alabama lives and dies by blowing out their opponents. Hang with us into the 4th and Saban is more likely to make bad decisions..... but that is usually easier said than done.

Auburn no doubt earned it. You're being too sensitive and taking the fun out of your own victory. I'm not trying to downplay their accomplishment, I'm just stating fact.

If that UGA receiver last year hadn't caught the tipped ball, they would've had more time and might would have scored the game winning TD to win the SECCG. I don't mind acknowledging that. There are always mistakes by both teams.

Only good teams. Maybe LSU will get their chance next year. For now, quit riding Auburn's dick. It's too big for you.

What alot of fans don't realize that like anything else in life, football is a cause and effect situation and that is all it is. If your team makes mistakes, it gives the opposition the opportunity to take advantage of them. Whether it be in coaching, or on the field mistakes. When mistakes are made, it opens up and increases the possibility of an negative outcome by the team that makes it. This goes both ways. I don't know why most people don't realize this. So saying you beat yourself isn't taking anything away from the opposition, its just saying that the opposition took advantage of the opportunities given to them more and that's how you win.

Wanted to do the same, but you started the thread. if we had to lose, I' d rather it was an SEC team, then Big 10, PAC 12, or the rest. Auburn did us in so congrats to them, War Eagle! What happened, just happned, no excuses. I hope the
Aubie win out, and you guys get a shot in the Natty. We' ll say a prayer, OSU loses....

Its because the term is frequently followed by "the better team lost" or some shite. If its being used to simply say a team made more mistakes then fine. I take exception to people saying a team made too many mistakes but is still better.

Good teams don't shoot themselves in the foot. That's really shitty shooting.

Best comeback of the day on the "shooting ourselves in the foot" talking point from today's threads.

Sounded like that was what he was saying and that AU was able to capitalize on those mistakes better than UA was able to capitalize on AU's mistakes.

Typical gumps. When they win, they can't shove it far enough up everyone's asses but when they lose, they play it all classy while secretly plotting to kill kickers, shoot dogs and poison trees.

Stout you stole the words out of my mouth. When will people realize that maybe you didn't play your game or didn't play like you should have or shot yourself in the foot that MAYBE IT IS THE TEAM YOU ARE PLAYING who is making you play that way.
