He's dead, and they all know it. No other way to explain all the reactions.

When big bad grown men sit on the sideline and bawl their eyes out, their is only one thing to think.
Prayers for that young man and his family!

He has a pulse but not breathing on his own. CPR, AED, and oxygen used on the field

Just saw this on Twitter:

I’m told Damar Hamlin has a pulse, but is not breathing on his own. He is being transported to UC. Needed AED and CPR on the field.

Guy may have died from a hit with a shoulder to his cheat on the tackle.

From a PR standpoint, even if the teams say “OK we’ll play for Hamlin” or whatever, the NFL needs to postpone this game entirely. Can you imagine the backlash if the poor guy actually passes away and they continued playing a football game?

At least that's something but still horrible. prayers go to him and his family. They need to hold this game off.

You don't do CPR to the living.
The fact that they didn't load him up right away is telling.
I think what was so upsetting to the players was that they intubated him on the field. Most people never experience that in their lives. It's traumatic.
But if it's cardiothoracic injury, his prognosis is very poor. They're a long way away from a trauma surgeon.

This is awful. Sadly, it reminds me of game between the Bears and the Lions around 1969-70. A WR with the Lions collapsed on the field and either passed away on the field or later at the hospital.

I’m thinking it’s this.
He took a hard shoulder to the chest.

Certainly, thoughts and prayers are with Hamlin tonight. I was a kid when a Lions player died on the field, tonight vividly brought that back.

Man I don’t know.
9 minutes is a long time for CPR.

Then he would have to be bagged until put on a ventilator at the hospital. What could possibly have caused that?

Do not know about now, but 20 years ago that was a good hospital.
