You sound like an ex-girlfriend.

It's a little disappointing for me. LSU-Arkansas used to be the major game on black friday, and I think a lot of guys would chill and watch it while their wives shopped, nationally. Thanksgiving day football, on the other hand, is NFL territory. I didn't really ever know Texas or A&M played; I didn't care.
There's a high probability the LSU-A&M game will just disappear against the NFL games.

You are competing in state with the Cowboys and The University of Texas, and the game is going head to head with the 9ers/Seahawks rivalry.
Meanwhile, Arkansas keeps its traditional timeslot and subs in another tiger team.

When the change was made, it was spun that it was lsu's decision to dump Arkansas for a&m...
but with Arkansas keeping the Friday time slot on CBS, locking down the a&m game in Dallas like we wanted, and playing Missou for a chance to knock them out of the SEC Championship game, while lsu and a&m play in a game no one will be watching to determine last place in the West...
rejection............. not feeling it

exactly
but let's keep this on the down low. if lsu fans get wind of the fact that arkansas shafted them, it may bring up the memories they've been trying to suppress of being shafted 17-0 in a non-consensual prison kind of way

When it was announced, I figured Mizzou would suck. They don't.
I will miss what we're used to. On the other hand, having LSU on campus and on a weekend when the student section is rocking and the fans are more likely to come is a nice change, too.
I ain't mad about it. I just hate change.

What most miss is that Long was wanting to replace Mizzou with Carolina as soon as it was decided Mizzou would be in the east.
So if you look at it, what did Arkansas have to "compromise" on?
Nothing.

Yeah swapping those two out made sense. Carolina rarely traveled, and I assume we hardly ever sent any fans there. That's the one change I don't really mind. Mizzou will bring some fans here, and we'll send some up there.

that whole deal was proposed and pushed by aTm. the athletic dept needed the cash to start repaying the general fund the money they borrowed.

Arkansas has officially become a "trap" game for LSU--right after the big Saban/Bama game and right before the big season finale with A&M. Guaranteed Razorback win every year now.

Hosting a huge post-Thanksgiving cookout and football getogether for all of the friends in from out of town was not only a fun tradition but also kept the whole "Black Friday" promotion from ever touching my life in any meaningful way. I don't care about the opponent but I definitely want LSU to play on Fri afternoon going forward.

am gonna miss the Black Friday game, no lie.
The Battle for the Boot game really changed LSU's entire culture. During the other 6 or 7 home games, the smell of boiled seafood and Tony Chachere's seasoning hovered over LSU's tailgating spots--but for the Arkansas game, everyone began having a couchon-de-lait (pig on a spittal). Watch this great video on it: LINK.
