To honor our OU friend for wisely choosing his vino I'll offer a crazy future where it comes full circle: Mike Leach will do really, really at Landmass far exceeding anyone's expectations. Leach will marry the Air Raid to SEC worthy defense and he'll win a conference title.
OU will replace the Schooner wagon with a horse-drawn, wheeled, Pirate Frigate in accordance with his bizarre contract demands to hire him and he will elevate OU's already formidable passing game AND bring back the defenses they when they were in the Big-8. In the process, they will forsake the run and special teams entirely and remain constant, but incomplete, threat in the playoffs.

Oklahoma has been one of the most consistent winning programs in college football. It does amaze me how they just can’t get over that hump.

Texas Okla Big 12 Ball is up tempo 40+ passes a game with fast lighter players in the lines usually a good 25 lbs less than SEC counterparts

OU just has to get better throughout the D. That defensive backfield was not anywhere near Top 3/4 SEC /Ohio State/Clemson quality.

OU was decent on defense in 2019, they just had a perfect storm of injuries/suspensions/ejections vs LSU.

They gave up 48 points to Kansas State. The same KSU team that scored over 40 points two other times that year:
Against Nichols St and against Bowling Green
KSU scored under 20 points three times. Scored under 30 points 7 times.
They also gave up 41 points to an Iowa State team that scored 9 points against Notre Dame.
Oklahoma was the worst P5 defense LSU faced last year, and it wasn't even close. (Except for maybe Vandy).
