Jury's out. It's a tough job for a young guy from out of the region to walk into an SEC Media Days press conference, and go toe-to-toe with everybody. I hope he works out beyond all expectations....hell, When Saban's done we'll need a good coach that knows the territory.

He is kind of a get off my lawn kind of guy, which I like. Not sure how he does if recruiting does not improve after he has product on the field.
We will know soon enough I guess.
Also, I think McElroy gave a pretty fair assessment of expectations for the year.

I give everyone hell like we all do but I am a realist. Jury is out here and will be for awhile and I’m an old timer. No doubt he’s had is “Oh hell” moments since the real world set in and he realizes he is truly running with the best and in the middle of a nuclear arms race. He’s not going to beat Hairy Dawg or Big Al out for the 5 star OL who leave those schools and sign for millions until he shows his offense and how they develop their players. The kids now days want to know and you can’t blame them. More than likely he’s focused on closing the year out with trying to get a top 25 ish class focused on OL. Disappointed in him because Big Cat Weekend should have been pumped on social media like Pooh Shiesty’s Get Out Of Jail party. Elaborate digital invitations with personal messages from the coaches, etc. He can talk about developing 3 stars but let’s face it. They are not going to win Natty’s. That 5 star OL who is developed at those other two schools just mentioned are going to whip that 3 all day long and twice on Sunday. He has balls enough to take the job. Time will tell. Lastly, was it me or did he throw a bit of shade toward Gus and Gus culture?
