Why would junior college have a special exemption but not D2
I’m curious about this myself or D3 and naia for that matter? Especially considering D3 and naia don’t offer schollys or didn’t when I was in hs.

It's not your fault... you were hyper focused on mizzou baseball.

I played two years of football and baseball in Juco. I’m 40 now. Can I get my two years back and play again?

Sorry hombre but I can understand Mexican way better than I can understand this.

I think SEC schools should have scholarship players and a pool of practice squad players they can NIL and develop…they get up to 2 years without it going against their eligibility.

What exactly does this have to do with anything. They arent students. They are paid athletes. Hell, Tebow's career should just now be winding down.

Yeah that didn’t help matters much. The NCAA screwed themselves.

For starters, far as I know at least, no has asked yet. However, NJCAA is a separate organization, so the argument in court was I was not in the NCAA, therefore I should not lose NCAA time, D2, D3 would not have the same merits, NAIA would however.

It will suck way worse when washed up pros sue to play more college ball.

The NCAA could curb that by having a hard and fast age rule, say 26, no matter what cannot play no exceptions.

And get slaughtered in court again?

If you have a lawyer who will go to federal court, probably.
But the problem with this is you have to show some damage, which means first you need a NCAA team to admit you and try to put you on one of their teams.
Good luck. I assume you'll have a lot of workouts ahead of you.

They get slaughtered b/c of exceptions. In most states, for example, you cannot play high school sports beyond 18, hard and fast rule. So, if the NCAA were to set an age and stick to it and not make random exceptions, then it should be allowed to stand.

If that's the case, Bama should sue to get all its punishments pre-Saban reversed as those were DEFINITELY selective.

That’s interesting. I feel like here in DFW, any kid with an ounce of athletic promise is held back a year in 8th grade in order to compete less fairly with others.

Most states still have a cutoff for hs, unless you are special needs(still need a waiver) you can’t be a hs student at any public school in the US over the age of 21(most cut off 20 tho).

Looks like Texas has a "four year rule" that starts upon beginning 9th grade, which explains why you're held back in the 8th so the clock doesn't start ticking.

The NCAA screwed themselves.

Yes, they haven't.

NCAA video games using players names, etc. was a huge cash grab.
Ed O’Bannon lawsuit could’ve been settled by the NCAA before they got their asses kicked in Federal Court.
That was the end of NCAA authority.
