Junior College doesn’t count anymore.

I can’t believe I missed all this nonsense. Why would junior college have a special exemption but not D2 or D1AA? Or anyone playing outside the SEC or B1G for that matter? This pisses me off way worse than any of the NIL stuff does. Who says we can’t bring guys back from the NFL or UFL now that getting paid doesn’t mean anything? Why have eligibility requirements at all? WTF?

As soon as someone challenges the NFL or UFL issue, they will also get an exemption imo.. Same goes for D2 and N1AA.
Has the NCAA hasn't won a single case against anyone?

It appears the ncaa was neutered after that last court case which opened up all this bullshite. I wouldn’t blame them if they sat back and let fiasco run its course. They can’t do anything anyway.
They were supposed to keep the game fair but they have no authority now.

There has to be a boatload of pro talent with less than four years of D1 play. Most elite players leave after three and plenty don’t want to be on a practice squad or play in front of empty UFL stands. Someone just needs to sign a couple to some NIL and get it over with. This is bad.

Excited to see Cam Newton suit up for the gators again in 2027

Usually, they change their own rules rather than fight in court. NCAA is a pathetic institution

We would definitely get one good year of nostalgia.

Because NIL had upsides. Sure, everyone was cheating before with a with one or two players, but only a few schools were brazen enough to be paying most everybody. Maybe it leveled the field just a little bit, and keeps numbers 5-40 a little more interesting. There were also some valid arguments that A) a monopoly has no right to strip one’s ability to monetize their NI&L.
B) Some schools weren’t treating players all that great while making a lot of money off of them.
I think a better solution would be set up true minor league so kids can choose an amateur college path or an unrestrictive development league.
This JuCo crap has no upside at all. It just rips apart the entire “college” part of the game. Pavia is going to ply his sixth full college season? What? We might as well have 30 year olds there. It has nothing to do with college now and it’s a poor example for kids. There isn’t one logical reason now why Cam Newton shouldn’t come back and play a season for UA or UF.

I saw where Miami TE Cam McCormick was granted ninth year of eligibility. He had several injuries over the years. He will be about 28.

So if I read this correctly, had these rules been in place previously it is likely that Georgia's starter last season would have been...Stetson Bennett/

The problem has forever been the selective enforcement of rules which the judges have taken to taken to task in all these cases regarding eligibility.

Because they were destined to lose anything anybody brought a serious court challenge to this stuff.
