I'm just saying the better QB won the race, and not because of team unity. Look at the stats from the Spring game.

quote:

Winson's performance -- 12-of-15 passing for 205 yards and two touchdowns against the first-team FSU defense -- might have hoisted him to the top of the Seminoles' crowded quarterback depth chart.

Junior-to-be Clint Trickett also played well, completing 22-of-32 passes for 259 yards and a score.

Jacob Coker went 11-of-19 passing for 153 yards and a score, and led the Gold team with 11 yards rushing.

I'm giving some reasons why he would stay. According to you idiots, there is no reason for him to stay at FSU.

Why would he want to stay after he graduates? To be second fiddle to JW?

Not gonna happen. He's leaving FSU and will continue his education AND college football career in his home state of Alabama.

We really need to have a decent 2nd QB next year. If Winston goes down and Mcguire goes in, we fricked.

Whats the word on Franklin? And do they plan to keep Treon Harris at QB?

I can't pull up the game logs right now, but much of FSUs garbage time was still early second half. Winston missed significant time in the second half of games. I doubt all of the starters were out. But in games FSU won so big, I don't think the second team is going to be that big of a drop off compared to the competition.

I liked Coker. I thought he would tear it up when he got in the game. But after watching him, he just wasn't as good as Winston.

Franklin got a ton of reps at QB leading up to the AU game. But with JJ and Treon coming in, I'm not sure if he'll stay at QB or not. Franklin is a stud athlete though, so I could see him at WR or DB.

Treon will definitely get a shot at QB. He wouldn't be committed to FSU if he wouldn't get a shot.

I'm not disagreeing with your accessment, just saying that it's next to impossible to really gauge QB competition in that type of situation (garbage time).

Hearing that FSU QB Jacob Coker was granted his release from the Seminoles today; look for him to transfer to UA as ????intel has reported

and then I read that he has NOT graduated yet. Two classes short. Guess he could finish those classes at Bama and then be eligible in June

Be a backup another full year? Really doubt he wants to do that.

there is nothing the FSU side has heard that indicate he plans on transferring.

FSU fans I know have been talking about it all year. They knew they couldn't keep both Winston and Coker.

no they wouldn't. They could potentially block him from transferring to several schools. In addition, it does him no good to let them know.

Now that rumors are around that Coker may come to Alabama they say Sean Maguire is better anyway

fwiw never heard any of my FSU fans say this. They know Coker is a stud and Maguire is a likely backup type (think Trickett).

Can he do that or does he have to graduate before he transfers?

dude's gotta graduate in order to be eligible next season... and why would FSU keep paying for his school if he's been granted a release?

dude probably ends up at bama in the summer... but this all sounds premature.

Has to graduate before he can transfer. But it was expected that he would finish in spring and transfer for summer.

Ehh, I'm pretty sure he could afford two courses if he had to pay out of pocket..and his grades are probably good enough to go for free anyway. This is FSU we're talking about. A 3.5 GPA as a senior in florida will cover 75% of your tuition at FSU
