That’s media in general. Whoever pays the big bucks gets to direct the narrative to their liking. Josh Pate sucks

He’s not a journalist he’s a guy on YouTube trolling for clicks

Lol.
That’s the dumbest shite I’ve ever heard.
Just a couple years ago, before Jimbo got fired….. his sponsor was Academy, he did spots with TexAgs, and he was not so positive about the Ags.
I hope the Ags never win shite….. but I don’t call Pate’s integrity in question.

You purple haired Horn sky screamers do nothing on this board but post about your big brother Aggie
Is there nothing else you think about?

The topic/question is if Josh Pate lets his sponsors motivate what he tells his audience.
So you're asking if Josh Pate does what LITERALLY EVERYONE ELSE does?

The thing about sunshine pumpers is that everyone knows that’s what they are.
They have zero credibility from anyone who pays attention.
I’m just shocked that they are able to make a living doing it.

Well I didn’t listen to Pate really prior to Texas joining the SEC. However, that could actually back up what I am saying more. Why? Because the fan base had turned on Jimbo Fisher at that point. So they would be more receptive to a mix of negative sentiment.

I agree, this is what pretty much all journalists who have major sponsors do.
If you look at Colin Cowherd, he talks up USC. Why? Well he was from LA at one point but it’s also the market he is trying to own. He knows he can’t own the SEC.
He would do the same for Texas if they were playing poorly.
For those who are disagreeing with me, I haven’t heard any argument as to why?
Finally, I don’t have a problem with it. I enjoy his coverage. It’s just an observation.

The most unbiased reporter in the SEC for sure.

I will say Pate's seeming focus during the season is betting spreads... his offseason talks, especially with the wild randomness that are college football rosters these days, aren't going to focus too much on that simply because the team that takes the field in September may not bear any resemblance to the one practicing in May.

Now you’re into one sentence summaries…
You wrote a lot of paragraphs on Pate above.
Least you could do for Bobby is provide all the details on his ties to UTA and how he determined Rivals player rankings for decades.

I don’t know that backstory. When I think of Burton, I think of his YouTube channel On Texas Football.
When you mentioned him, I thought you were talking about his commentary on On Texas Football. So it was sort of an obvious response. Sounds like there is more to it I don’t know.

Yeah, Burton has been prominent around CFB for decades. Very influential.
Bobby Burton is a 1992 alum of the University of Texas. A leading recruiting expert in his 20s and 30s, Burton appeared on TV and radio shows nationwide and was ranked the 88th most powerful person in sports by Sporting News in 2000. Burton is one of the founding partners of both Rivals.com and 247Sports.com.
