Sankey didn't make you lose to Vanderbilt or get blown out by Oklahoma.

Sankey didn't make Ole Miss lose to Kentucky and Florida.

Both our teams got left out because of bad losses. Period. You can't just wave away nasty, festering boils on the resume just by saying "SEC".

The have to fix the seeding issue. College basketball gives autobids bit doesn't guarantee a seed to go with it. That alone fixes most issues.

If the SEC/Big 10 want to split, go for it

Less people will end up watching, not more...it will just rip college football apart

And I can't even imagine it's effects on overall college athletics

The SEC front office is so stupid they didn't see that issue to begin with.

Sankey is honestly an idiot.

Will Bama claim the 2024 national title after this happens?

My love for the SEC began to wane in 2010. After they started taking every Tom and hairy dick with a TV market it died entirely. This ain't the SEC, it is an abomination.

Think about it. The system benefited everyone but the SEC this season. The B12 got their #12 ranked team a #4 seed and bye. The ACC gets both their title game participants in including their #16 ranked champ who got beat by their SEC rival who got left out despite being ranked higher. The B10 gets 4 teams in despite the bottom 3/4ths of the conference being historically bad. Penn St gets a home game plus faces SMU then Boise. Notre Dame is happy as hell with their hand picked schedule resulting in a home game vs Indifreakingana. The Group of 5 is still pinching themselves with their rep getting a #3 seed and bye.

What a bold take by Pate. They are going to change some of the biggest complaints about the current format…

This should never be a given unless we are operating on the auspices that all P4 conferences are on equal footing, which would be immensely bad for the SEC.

While not all P4 leagues are the same, the actual travesty with this years playoff is Boise State, not SMU.

See my schedule thread I just created. All P4 leagues should get together and agree on the same divisional format to create more equal scheduling in their leagues.

I think they have to take FSU, Clemson, and Miami along for the ride to make it fully legitimate. Those schools have won too many national titles in most of our lifetimes to completely exclude.

We don’t give a frick.

All 10-win SEC teams made the playoffs. Any SEC team left out this year would have made it with 10 wins.

No one gives a frick about trying to scrape into the playoff with 9 wins. We want to win 10+ games with an exciting schedule that makes the football season worth the passion we invest in it.

Don’t lose 3 regular season games seems like a reasonable message to me.
