If this was 2011 Saban would’ve killed one of those kids with his bare hands and he could’ve done it too.

Presumably just about any offensive lineman good enough to sign with Bama has at least an outside shot at the NFL. Why the hell would anyone jeopardize their status in the eyes of the NFL because of the QB? If the guy who got benched was my best friend and the guy who took his place was my worst enemy, I would still block my arse off. You're blocking for your future, not the QB. I don't believe this.

There are ways to still actively block on the play but miss an assignment which keeps the play from being successful. Can still give 80% effort and “look like you got your guy”.

The mindset of 18-22 year old college players - even ones with high NFL aspirations - is different from that of those of us that comprise this board. It’s also easy for you or I to say we’d “go out and give 110% on every play” and “block our ads off for the future.”

They aren't going to purposely mess up their chances to be drafted.

For the lineman's sake, they better say it was "on purpose" because what they are putting on tape ain't gonna get them drafted by anybody!!

Milroe didn’t respond well to sharing reps with Buchner and Simpson at practice during the week. He was suspended for the USF game...as Saban said after the game, “It was an internal thing.” The offense turned in a lifeless, pathetic performance, but the more likely explanation for the poor play is simply that it was a letdown game in a weird environment, and the best option at qb was unavailable.

There is no best option at qb, though Simpson, a redshirt freshman, didn't even get first team reps last week, and Saturday was the first time he's ever gotten a shot with the first team in a live game. Milroe sucks and I've said it even on this board since last season. There is division on the team, Milroe unloaded on the OC without much consequence, and it's a schit show. That's just the reality.

edit: Longeran may actually be a very good qb with development (Rees is no qb coach) and experience but he won't get that this year. Since Milroe will be back next season I expect Longergan and Simpson will transfer and won't be surprised if Sayin wants no part of this.

Alabama fans have been crowing about their huge offensive line. In reality they are fat slow and unathletic The only thing that will save them is if they all start holding and the officials won’t call it. Like that never happens as it pertains to Bama.

He may have been in the dog house, but I don't believe he was suspended.
I have never seen a suspended player travel with the team, be dressed out in his full uniform, and even at one time had the helmit on.
I also don't believe the players were not doing good just to make a point. They have to know it only makes them look bad. Some crazy Bama fans, yes we have them, were saying even the WRs were dropping passes on purpose. I didn't see a drop because neither QB was throwing great passes. When Simpson threw a few good passes, they were all caught and even some really bad passes were caught!

Agreed. Which is why I said they were not doing it on purpose. they would have to be stupid to do that.

If they came out and said it was on purpose do you think an NFL team would draft them?

This was inevitable. Saban is done, and Bama is about to enter some dark times for a few years at least.

hinted OL purposely didn't block.
knowing Saban, if that were true. . .you'd have multiple OL in the transfer portal already.

But this is 100% untrue.
