Ewers has yet to play an entire season without missing games. We're going to see what arch is made of this year for sure.
Quinn Will be drafted high but he's been injury-prone so that's going to be a concern for NFL teams I'm sure.

What Texas needs is to win a championship then the quarterback will be well worth it. I would say it's a wait and see approach.

Somebody forgot to tell this gomer Will Rogers transferred out. I mean, I always expect getting lazy takes on us, but it's obvious to every scout that we upgraded the qb room. Last year they pinned Rogers at like #2 or something. This dip doesn't even know what he doesn't know.

The only thing Nuss has is experience. He's a middle of the road game manager type of QB best case scenario. That's his ceiling which is lower than Nico's floor.
Shall we go back and delve into this board's (and the Rant's) hot takes on Jayden Daniels ceiling before last season?
What about Burrow's ceiling during the 2019 pre-season?
If we do, it will prove that none of y'all know shite about football and QBs.

Everybody go ahead and keep doubting Jackson Arnold and OU.

I was wrong on Daniels.
I expected him to be good.
I didn't expect top of the draft good.
He backed up the LSU talk.

Nussmeier ain't anything close to being JD.
I knew JD was going to be good when Vols beat LSU 40-13. He had all the tools to succeed despite being manhandled against us.
Nussmeier does simply not have these same tools.

Milroe beat Joe Biden. Hold on to that feeling.

That's a lot of hype for a guy who couldn't even beat out Joe Milton.
Milton was a roster management situation combined with the fact that early on in the season and even into mid season when he was putting together some good performances, there’d have been no rhyme or reason to burning Milton and starting a true fresh with no scholarship QBs behind him. Much easier to play Milton and allow Nico to gain weight and experience than to roll out a skinny inexperienced QB with no one to back him up.
Y’all act like Milton didn’t just get drafted. He was frustrating but effective in most games and once we lost Bru and others on offense he became even more important. Nico otoh put together a great showing and managed to get at least a few hamburgers heavier than Tyler Bray his true fresh year. Giving Milton the season and Nico a chance to learn and grow was the wise thing to do especially given we had no QBs on scholarship.

I have no doubt about that but I have to converse with Whiskey down at his level

This means absolutely nothing at this point. The NFL will draft anyone that can throw the ball far at the QB position

It was painful to watch at times, especially his momentum flipping turnovers against bama and florida but ultimately it was the right decision for Tennessee 's future. Getting Milton drafted was no small feat by Heupel and he definitely did improve some as the season progressed.
He just doesn't have the same intangibles and football instinct that a guy like Nico or Hooker has. You could see Nico's pocket awareness and quick thinking immediately against Iowa. Flashbacks of 2022 Hendon. He just needs to iron out a few kinks and he will be really really good.

Nussheimer's not that bad. But he's no NICO.
Of course, no one is. Bryce Young would have been close, had he been able to see over the offensive line.

FTR it was stated plainly by coaches and Nico prior to the bowl game that there was no intention to redshirt. People forget though that we didn’t have our starting center for the first few games (including against Florida) and that even when he return if one our 1s took a breather our line was slaw (ones were good but backups were wayyyyy behind). Once the line settled Milton put together some good games but then injuries started piling up and we lost the only experience we had at WR as well as the blocking prowess of Bru.
The games where Nico might have made a difference unfortunately coincided with games you don’t want a skinny frosh with no backup. I can’t think of a game we lost last season where Nico clearly would’ve won it. Played better? Maybe, probably. But the losses we had were on problems we knew we had going into the season (defense, rebuilding the WR corps, OL depth etc) and injuries. And two were games we weren’t expecting to win even if things had been better. We lost a lot of production and experience on both sides from the season prior.
Nico is going to be special if he proves durable but burning talent like he has for a prettier performance with the same result doesn’t make a ton of sense, especially when everyone with a brain new that last season was always going to be a transition season for us.
