First off Sellers is hot dog shite. Ashford is better imo

AShford can't hit water if he fell out of a boat!

USC wins that game if Sellers isn't hurt.

The one good D Nuss struggled when pressured.

If you can run the ball you can win

Healthy? You don’t know crap. We are so beat up. Two starters playing with injuries and several players unavailable.

"Coming off the bye" is not the advantage the media loves to think it is.

I would say LSU is no where near UK and USC on pass rush. LSU should look pedestrian compared to the other two. The Lsu D in general will be a big step down from what the OM O has seen the last 2 weeks.

Pate mentioned that LSU is #4 in the country in pressure percentage.

Its been an issue for Keenan Allen so far this season. Although Harris is much younger and will probably bounce back sooner.

Harris will start and not miss a play barring any injury. Book it and disregard the Lane speak!!!

He hasnt been pressured much in any game all season long, including USC.

Dropbacks - Pressures - sacked

USA - 39 - 7 - 0
UCLA - 44 - 7 - 0
USCe - 42 - 10 - 2 (1 was intentional grounding on a screen play)
Nicholls - 39 - 6 - 0
USCw - 36 - 6 - 0

USC was the most pressured game but it honestly wasnt notably more than the USA game really. Both USC sacks were bringing more guys than we could block (they brought 6 on the actual sack and intentional grounding screen play where our RB ran the wrong direction).

Ole Miss has had issues keeping Dart clean by comparison:

MTSU - 31 - 8 - 3
UK - 36 - 14 - 4
USCe - 28 - 11 - 1

Really games against UK/USCe in that respect. Thats a 45% pressure rate in those 2 games.

As far as I know, nobody's tried it. What's the worst that can happen? More losing couple with a $70+ million dollar buyout?

If OM loses what should happen to Kiffin then?

Lane won't get the Florida job

If Ole Miss doesn’t come out firing on all cylinders they will lose this game in the first half. That’s my opinion.
I can assure you, unless you are south alabama...no game can be lost to LSU in the first half

LSU is tied for 3rd in the sec in sacks and 9th in tackles for loss...not sure where you come up with 4th and best in the country. Prob 4th in the SEC. But overall both Kentucky and SC both have better pass defense and rush defense numbers.

Biggest match up will be our D-line...1st in tackles for loss and 1st in sacks in the SEC vs. LSU Oline who rank 1st in least sacks given up.

sacks isnt the only measure for pass rush.

Here are our opposing FBS QB drop backs we've faced with total pressures by our defense:

USA - 40 DB, 20 PR, 3 SK (50% pressure rate)
UCLA - 43 DB, 24 PR, 6 SK (56% pressure rate)
USCe - 29 DB, 11 PR, 5 SK (38% pressure rate)
USCw - 39 DB, 15 PR, 2 SK (38% pressure rate)

We are extremely extremely good getting to a QB. Funny enough Nicholls was the only game we didnt get much pressure on the QB (5 in 21 DB), but they also threw the ball over 20 yards once all game and 3 times between 10-19 yards, so that kind of shows their game plan that day (dont hold onto the ball long at all)

The solution?

Give Kiffin a contract extension and raise if he loses to LSU.

I heard of a HS basketball coach in our area that was super hard on his teams when they won. He'd make them run for every little mistake and would practice them really hard. But when they lost, he would buy pizza for the team and being softer and encouraging.

His theory was that after a win, HS kids get big heads and they need to be reminded that they still have stuff to work on and improve. But after a loss, these same kids tend to get down on themselves and they need to be picked up and encouraged to keep going.

I have no idea if that strategy was successful or not but I always found it odd but interesting.

I would love to see a school be hard on a coach for winning 9, 10 games but give him a bonus and extension when he only wins 6. That would be funny.

Actually, I like the pizza idea better.

But yeah, your other point reminds me of when we beat State by 41 and Jimbo was immediately fired.

Your D-Line will definitely get to him

I'd imagine LSU's play will be to get the ball out of his hands quickly, short 2-5 yard passes. Nuss has a ton of passing yards but his yards per attempt are relatively low. Bottom half of the SEC (10th or so)
