Greg Schiano turned Rutgers into a solid team. I think he'd be a pretty good hire, if you ask me.

Schiano would not be a bad choice at all, imo.

Gruden doesn't make 10 million, it's closer to 6. And ESPN can't afford him anymore.

Bobby's a classless idiot who's crumbling at Louisville. If Tennessee hires him they're fools

Tennessee needs to get a Les Miles type to build their program back up and bring it back to a respectable level. Sign a 4-5 year deal, get some solid assistants, and have his replacement waiting on the wings for continuity. Someone like Gruden would be a disaster and is just a pipe dream.

Why the heck would he give up his current $10 million+ job

He is the highest paid employee of ESPN at $6.5 million. This is for reading and talking about a sport he loves while having his every desire met.

He is not returning to the grind.

See this is all just a ruse by Gruden and the Vols so Gruden can secretly recruit the top players.

Probably correct, but ESPN will not pay him that going forward.

You could do worse than Schiano for sure.

Les Miles would be a great choice for UT as well.

So they cut him to $5 million, pay for all travel, hotels, meals, snacks, massages, wardrobe, car rental, assistants, and a staff to do his due diligence.

Also, on the money he has already saved, he can spend about 15k a week after taxes, without touching the principal.

It will be considerably less than that.

Are you under the impression that SEC head coaches have to pay for any of these things when they travel?

Holy shite dude.

Vols have been just silly about this. Why the heck would he give up his current $10 million+ job with 0 stress to take a chance at righting the train wreck in Knoxvile? Pride? Makes no sense...

No. I thought we were talking about Gruden.

Whatever it is, 3 million, or whatever, is still a pretty good gig.

Don't look now, but you are making better arguments for Gruden to UT than vf30.
