quote:I firmly believe that Henry would absolutely destroy the Pac 12. He'd make McCaffrey look like a middle school girl in comparison on all those screens.
And the SEC has much better defensive line and secondary play than the Pac 12, by faaaaaaaaaaaaaaar. That's why our defenses are better.

As an LSU fan, I can respect what Henry's done against the league's defenses. What wins me over is his number of carries the past 2 games, 40+ each game. I just wonder, though, how that will come to affect him in the NFL as his high number of carries between the tackles is what a lot of pro teams are now saying causes bama's RB's to not last too long/be that effective. There are 3 legit contenders, though, and I would not be surprised at anyone winning it.

Interesting team offense comparisons:
Derrick Henry is responsible for 2,073 yards. Alabama has 5,493 yards of offense. Derrick Henry is responsible for 37.7%
Christian McCaffrey is responsible for 2,387 yards from scrimmage plus 39 passing yards. Stanford has 5,668 yards of offense. Christian McCaffrey is responsible for 42.8%
McCaffrey is Stanford's leading receiver in both catches and yards.
McCaffrey's touchdown number suffer greatly as he's used as a decoy in goal line situations. He goes one way and Remound Wright goes another to score. Wright has 13 rushing touchdowns on only 77 carries with a 2.7 ypc average.
McCaffrey really does do everything.

Henry will end his career at Bama will about 600 attempts. So will we hear about this when LF ends his career with 800-850?

quote:Same here. I'm amused at the LSU and Auburn folks who are so wrapped up in the whole thing because there's a chance an Alabama player will win it...and it's killing them. They've got nothing else to hope for with their programs in a total freefall and nothing on the horizon...poor bastards.
I don't really care if Henry wins it. I think he deserves it and I think he probably should. But at the same time it's not something that any of us really expected going in to the season or something I'll get super excited about.
It'll just be something for all the talking heads to talk about when the bowls come around.

I think Henry and McCaffrey are both deserving and either one of them would be a good choice.
I would not be pleased if Watson won.

Man this really bothers y'all.
Both are deserving, wouldn't hurt me if either won, or Watson. You can make a case for all three depending on your particular bias. It's a tough year to pick one.

No doubt.
He is an excellent player, but not the Heisman Trophy winner.

it lost all prestige much longer ago than that. it's been a popularity contest basically since its inception
If truly would go to the best player every year then Honey Badger would have won it.

It lost all legitimacy when Peyton didn't get it cuz ESPN decided to ride Charles Woodson's dick all season long.

Finalists just announced:
Henry
McCaffrey
Watson
Personally I think that's a good sign for Henry. Oh well, I think it will either be Henry or McCaffrey.

Hell, It'd probably be a blessing if Henry didn't get it. That would totally piss off the entire team, and we've seen what can happen if they get pissed off (E.g.-in the Auburn game after they flagged Foster for unnecessary roughness).

Ok. If Henry wins it, great. We'll be excited for him. If Henry doesn't win it, no worries. I can promise you every single Bama fan (and player - including Henry) prefers a national title to an individual award.
quote:
My personal opinion is that Watson and Henry will split the southern vote and Mcaffrey will take the West Coast. Heisman winner will be decided by the Mid West
You know there are more voting regions than that, right?
McCaffery will win the Far West.
Henry will win the South.
Watson will win Mid Atlantic.
That leaves Mid West (prolly Henry), Southwest (split with Mayfield and Henry), and Northeast (split with Watson and Henry)
Winner may have more 2nd place votes than first place votes.

Pac 12 had more defensive players taken first round than the SEC in the most recent draft.

Watson having 11 picks and the white boy having only 12 touchdowns is what fricks them. Henry via landslide.

They need to put that right beside his stats so the voters know.
