I would lean Franks because of Mullen. I really like Burrow, but I don't think he has a big-time arm and puts himself at risk on too many occasions. I've seen him make some great throws but was below average on the quicker inside routes.

I can agree with that actually.

I like Franks and think he has gotten better every year at Florida, but tbh I didn’t realize this was even a question. I’ve seen Franks ranked anywhere from 5th to 8th best QB in the SEC, whereas Burrow is always either 3rd or 4th (I saw one where he was second but I’m not delusional so we won’t count that)
If I’m being 100% honest as much as I respect Franks’ growth, I think if he was on any team not coached by Dan Mullen he would be either a backup QB or just not a great starter. Since you said I can pick either with any coaching combo I wanted I would go with Burrow. I also think he is probably the more coachable player, although like I said I respect Franks’ growth.
I know Florida fans will point to the UF/LSU game. But anyone who does that is being a bit disingenuous to themselves. I’ve already seen one say Burrow is a sack waiting to happen, and with our 2018 o-line he was. First off more people played in that UF/LSU game than 2 QBs. Second off, LSU’s offensive line had maybe their worst game of the entire year (it is between that game and the Bama game) against Florida.
I would take Burrow in a heartbeat. I also think he is a better leader and despite the size difference, I think he is tougher.

I give a slight edge to Franks. Burrow’s QB rating was 12th of 14 starters in the SEC ahead of only Storey and Fitzgerald. Franks had 8 more passing TDs and their rushing stats are practically the same.

Burrow is a sack waiting to happen...I think UF sacked him 5 or 6 times last year....and other teams got to him also.
??
He only got sacked 5+ times 3 times.. against Florida, Bama, and A&M.
He averaged 1-2 sacks every other game with terrible OTs.

Give me Joe all day, Franks peaked last year. Hes going to regress this year. Expect to see Kyle Trask by game 3.

If Burrow was playing for Mullen we would have a really dangerous offense. If Franks was playing for Orgeron they literally might not win a game. It really is just the Mullen factor.
Yup.
Everyone needs to realize this. Imagine Franks at LSU.. The accuracy would be really awful. Burrow would be fine under Mullen.

Ice in his veins? Wasn't Joe's big knock he doesnt do well when pressured?
He also threw a pick six to seal a game last year with us

Peaked? His numbers vs SEC competition barely improved from '17.If that's his peak UF is in bigger trouble than we all thought.

Yea if Franks doesnt improve Jones will end up playing. I doubt it though. Mullen will also play to what he is good at. With the play makers at his disposal he needs to put up pretty good numbers this year.

Ours was Treon Harris...I'd call that an LSU advantage

The funny part about this is LSU fans treat Burrow like the 2nd coming of Mettsiah, while UF fans are a little more harsh on Felipe.
He isn't saying we are #1 in the picture.

I dont know...I didn't watch LSU enough last year. Franks hasnt impressed me. He's capable but not spectacular. I lean Burrow because of that, but I didnt watch him but the latter half of the A&M game and ironically, part of the UF game.

Didn't Burrow go like 3-4 games last year without throwing a TD?
