Yea I'm not going to sit here and claim Franks elite by any means...but the way LSU fans act about Burrow is rather puzzling. The guy is like Franks...and average QB.

You may some good points about your O line, but also leave open things like Franks has been at UF for a few years already, but it was his first with Mullen when he beat LSU. You talk about injuries to your o line, but UF has some significant injuries to the defensive backfield that would’ve helped Burrows. He did throw some dynamite balls that LSU’s WRs dropped at the end of the game though

That's why I charge that this season will be a more accurate barometer for both. Both should be comfortable in their systems. Fortunately for Burrow we'll have better wr's this season. Sullivan and Anderson are mediocre on their best days. Florida will have to contend with mostly a new starting o line. Both have work to do if they want to make it in the NFL.

Joe Burrow is a system fit at Florida as well. Switch roles and Burrow would look much better
LSU is running his type of offense which he is most comfortable in. Joe Brady's presence as "offensive analyst" is being greatly undervalued.

As I said before: If Burrow and Franks switched places and Franks was playing for LSU while Burrow transferred to Florida, Burrow would absolutely decimate his numbers.

Better vision, better release, generally smarter and more humble QB.

He just happens to be playing in an Orgeron offense, which hasn't had very much consistency for a while now.

Burrow is not that great. You act like he doesn't have weapons at LSU...that's ridiculous. You also always forget arm talent(just like when you push for Trask).

Franks did not beat LSU. Florida beat LSU.

Franks was 12/27 with 1 TD and 1 INT for 161 yards.
That's not horrible, but that typically does not "beat" another team without a lot of help. Perine did a heck of a job that game with 85 yards rushing and 2TDs, and that pick 6 at the end.

Perine is going to be a monster this year. He doesn't get the talk he deserves in the national media.

We have a winner, neither of these QBs is going to beat anyone without a lot of help. I will go with Franks over Burrows because of coaching, not talent, and the playmakers are better at UF this season than they are at LSU.

Florida will have to beat teams this year, not Franks. He just doesn't need to beat Florida, if you know what I mean.

I agree. He's a good one, no doubt. Florida is fortunate to have him. I think he will be a good NFL back, too, if he has the size. (I'm not sure how big he is and I'm too lazy to look it up right now)

This is true. He had a rough game against us. He will have to settle down and stay calm. Like Auburn, a big key for Florida this year will be the OLine. If they ball out Florida can have a big year.

Orgeron isn't as good as Mullen.

It's less me praising Burrow as much as it is having faith in Mullen's ability.

Arm talent doesn't mean dick when you don't have any other Quarterbacking qualities. Pocket presence, reading the field, understanding schemes etc. etc., Franks was an F before Mullen came and saved his career.

Franks gets credit, but the lion's share goes to Mullen. Franks would be absolutely worthless if he went anywhere else.

I hear you, Gravy. But you also think Coach 0 is beautiful. So I have to question your judgement.

Burrow is a sack waiting to happen...I think UF sacked him 5 or 6 times last year....and other teams got to him also.

This is on the Oline, not Joe...

Yeah I would give Burrow a grade of 83 and Franks an 80. They are not far off from one another with Franks being a little more physical and Burrow having better intangibles. No knock on Burrow though as he is tough as heck and also can hurt you running the ball. I think Burrow actually had more rush yards than Franks but the difference was basically all the OT's in the A&M game.

Their stats were pretty similar last year but Franks had the better O-line, and I think Burrow will have that advantage this year.

If Burrow this year is as bad as Franks has been tonight we are in trouble.

Can’t hit a bull in the butt with a basefiddle then makes that throw. At least he’s consistently inconsistent.
