by virtue of winning a national championship you could make the case that burrow had the better college career but stafford had a more prolific college career as a three year starter and a higher profile recruit. so let's call that a wash. they were both the first player taken in their respective draft classes.

professionally stafford has had great nfl career, he's thrown for nearly 42,000 yards that ranks him ahead of joe montana, johnny unitas, jim kelley and troy aikman all hall of famer's but is stafford a hof'er? no, why because he hasn't won. the lion's have been in just 3 playoff games in his career and lost them all. is that his fault? maybe but the lions haven't won a championship since 1957, they're the only team in the NFC to have never been in a super bowl and that's not his fault.

the bengal's haven't won a playoff game since 1991. can they build a team around burrow's talent? yeah theoretically, but will they? history says they won't.

on paper the nfl is an all things being equal league in terms of players. every team has the same salary cap, the players are unionized, they don't become free agents until their 5th year in the league and most players don't last 5 years, and beyond that you can franchise tag players keeping them from free agency.

where the nfl is not equal is in ownership, management and coaching and the fact is that it's very difficult to attract good people to a bad situation no matter how much you're paying them.

Imo I didn't follow SEC football when Stafford played and I dont watch NFL. Id say both are successful but burrow has an early advantage w Heisman and NC.

I think there are some differences, but I get what you’re saying. I hope not for Joe’s sake.

I would love to see the Saints get Stafford after Brees retires. I think he’s really good, just part of a bad organization.

I would say the Lions and Bengals are two of the worst run organizations in sports, right there with the Redskins and Jets

Lions have made the playoffs with Stafford so he is a really good player but the way they treated Megatron was pretty bad.

If he’s lucky, Burrow will have the longevity of Stafford. Joe Burrow isn’t close right now. One is a franchise QB on his 3rd or 4th contract, the other is a rookie with the potential to be that.

Regarded as a five-star recruit by Rivals.com, Stafford was listed as the No. 1 pro-style quarterback prospect in the class of 2006 by Rivals.com. Before he had even started a game at the collegiate level, analyst Mel Kiper, Jr. predicted, correctly, that Stafford would eventually be the first pick in the NFL Draft.

Burrow considered a consensus 3-star recruit is listed at No. 10 among dual-threat recruits in this class, according to 247Sports' composite rankings. He was named Ohio's Gatorade Player of the Year in 2013, when he torched opponents for 3,732 yards and 47 touchdowns through the air.

please stop pretending you even knew who he was until he transferred to LSU.

Burrows recruiting ranking has nothing to do with why I stopped reading after that part of your post.

I stopped reading because you said Staffords recruiting ranking was part of what cancelled out Burrows heisman and NC. IMO that is dumb.

This is bad and you should feel bad. Joe has more cojones, better footwork and can throw on the run better than Stafford. He will be a hall of gamer. Jesus Christ I’m talking to a pig. What am I doing with my life? I need help. I should be asleep.

This is stupid even by the low standards of Arkansas.
Georgia entered Stafford’s last year as AP preseason #1 and fell on their arse. Burrow won the Heisman, NC, SECC. Stafford never won a division title. Burrow holds the NCAA record for yards, TDs. Stafford isn’t even Georgia’s record holder.

Look, I know you’re jealous of programs like LSU. Arkansas’ glory is long gone, never to return again. You’re the dregs of the SEC West. So have a steaming hot cup of STFU.

Stafford is a known poon hound. Burrow acts like he has “other” interests.
