I can’t wait for what constitutes an open and honest dialogue

Black person. “We feel that we are being targeted and killed unnecessarily by the police

White person: “bullshite, a white person was killed back in blah blah blah by police. See all the killing is equal”

There’s your dialogue. If you really have an open and honest dialogue you are going to have a bunch of things that both sides don’t want to hear followed by a bunch of excuses for the reasons why and nothing gets done

It’s just amazing to me that people get this worked up over the color of a person’s skin. I’m just fascinated by it.

The focus needs to be on community police relations.

You got down votes as well! Some people are just dumb and don't get it about this!

What kind of sub human savage would down vote such poignant and appropriate comments given what has occurred in the last few months (Brunswick,GA & Louisville included) in this Country? As someone said, this was for recruiting purposes only. Once one coach releases a statement, they will all fall in line because if not, it will be used against them when that coach is sitting in a recruits living room....

Even if the stmt has another motive behind it, isn't it still the appropriate thing to say?

You want us to believe that if Jimbo wasn't coaching a Team with a lot of Blacks on it, then he wouldn't have made the stmt or at least felt what the stmt was conveying?

You make it seem as if we live in a World where if a white person doesn't have a financial incentive to care about a Black person, then they shouldn't empathize with their issues or their plight

Your outlook is a sad indictment as to the kind of person you are , and a sad indictment on how you view relations between different ethnicities

I didn’t downvote the first time I read it, but after I read your post I went back and downvoted.

Your team’s coach was the first to tweet—before Coach Fisher did.
And there’s nothing wrong with that.
Peace.

The statement is fine, I just don't understand why every single person on the planet is required to put out a statement on the matter. And they all say the same boilerplate things.

Yep.

I wish he would have added a ‘ps. But those destroying property and looters are piece of shite animals and deserve to be treated as such.’

Then I may have upvoted him.

Good for Jimbo to be standing against racism, even after a black man was fricking his wife and ruined his marriage and, in turn, his coaching career, and led to him being the washed up alcoholic he is today.

Takes a big person to get over that without being predjudiced and stand for justice.

Exactly, can't believe I'm agreeing with a Bama fan that said this. Why is it racism , cause it was a white cop? If this had been a black cop it's no news at all. What this cop did was so horrificfic, sad, unconscionable & wrong that I'm sure he would love a redo that day. If he has a history of racism then prison will not be kind to him. Let's see what the trial brings out.
