Hundred dollar handshakes everywhere isn’t far fetched

That's what is so funny about all this. aTm fans and Jimbo himself bragged for months about how they were going to use NIL to land players. Then the NCAA issues a reminder that inducing recruits with NIL has always been illegal, and all of a sudden Jimbo and aTm fans get defensive and act like the last 6 months never happened.

Not really cheating IMO. It's against the rules and I understand why, but it's doing 65 in a 55 IMO.

Real cheating happens in recruiting as a means to get the player to come to your school.

A&M fans bragged we can buy anyone. Fisher never said anything of the sort - plausible deniability. We even have an NIL lawyer saying everything we did was 100% within the letter of the law.

Well that settles it. I mean if your own lawyer publicly says you did nothing wrong, then you must be in the clear.

I've seen him do this twice now. I'd like some more details.

Did everyone notice multiple times Jimbo was specific referencing TEXAS LAW

Just maybe Texas law allows more flexibility than other states?

It is obvious the Aggies got ahead of the curve and involved NIL to attract recruits and more than likely did not break any Texas laws.

Well done a good job, the Aggies have not hidden the fact they would open the check book to compete for championships, they have invested in facilities and coaching salaries.

Sad at the end of the day the typical student athlete will suffer and I may be wrong and graduation rates and grades may go up but more than likely not

Why would I need to? If the comparison works it just works.

We are at this point because the NCAA - and fans of the product - wanted the "money" out of the hands of the "student-athletes".

Ignore the multi-million dollar salaries for coaches, and the tens of millions in naming rights for stadiums, and the big dollars for suites and such.

This is all about getting the money out of college athletics. Except for all the money everybody likes for great coaches and fantastic stadiums.
