How is this news? The commissioner said the same thing at the start of SEC Media Days along with them wanting to do away with the divisions (on top of an 8, 9, or 10 game schedule for the conference). Personally, I think doing away with the divisions will be stupid (the format should be four divisions of four), but it is what it is.
P.S. Apparently, the NFL can do four divisions of four for the AFC and NFC, but the SEC can't... go figure.
SEC West: Arkansas, Missouri, OU, and Texas
SEC South: A&M, LSU, Mississippi State, and Ole Miss
SEC North: Bama, Kentucky, Tennessee, and Vandy
SEC East: Auburn, Carolina, Florida, and Georgia
Base Format: 3 Divisional | 1 OOD Rivalry | 4 Rotational

As long as we're paired with Texas I'm fine. The LSU series has been a lot of fun the past 2.5 decades, but LSU has more history with other programs.
The Lone Star rivalry has more history and more on the line for both schools, but Texas and Aggie, even though neither will admit it, have a basic level of respect for each other.
Ask older Arkansas or Texas fans, that is pure, primal, wouldn't piss on you if you were on fire hatred.

Vandy wants Sewanee, Tulane and can we invite Belmont into the conference?

MSU aren't competitive enough to warrant pairing with lsu or alabama
This isn't a great argument when discussing scheduling teams against Alabama. Auburn and Tennessee are the only teams Bama has won less than 65% against.

I want Alabama,Ole Miss and Texas A&M.

Revive the Southwest rivalry
If you want that then it has to be Arkansas, Texas, and A&M playing eachother

LSU? Mississippi State?
why wouldn't it be MSu? Seems like that'd be a stone cold lock

Would make sense why Sankey mentioned Arkansas playing Texas and OU.
When did he say this? I’ve been traveling this week so I’d like to go back and listen to it.

A & M's rivals will be Texas, Arkansas and LSU.
Arkansas' will be Texas, A & M and probably Oklahoma.

I’m just old enough to appreciate the Texass rivalry but attended high school and U of A during our SEC days. I would actually look forward to renewing that rivalry just for the history alone. However, to me, Ole Miss and LSU feel more like true rivals to me now. Also, I can see OU developing into a great rivalry since we would be the closest SEC school to each campus.
For me any combo of LSU, Ole Miss, OU or Texas would make me ecstatic. Mizzou just doesn’t move the needle for me though.

Because the SEC has so many annual rivalries amongst its members that the NFL doesn't.

Why are some same-state schools together & others not?
Also, how does the 1 OOD work when you play that pod...does the OOD change to another team?
