FSU is notoriously known to be cheap with assist pay. Add that to outdated facilities and you can see why anyone would want to leave. Recruiting territory is a bit overrated when you factor in facilities and coaching. Tuscaloosa isn’t located close to any talent, yet Saban pulls’em in. Conversely, the state of FL is picked over by a ton of schools.

FSU would be making a big mistake but does seem like he could use a change of scenery

Maybe he no longer care about winning championships? Burn out?

Well if the sports media is talking it, then it is less likely to happen. To poach a top coach, it has to be under the radar

As an LSU fan, I always imagined Jimbo Fisher possibly coming here, but if he went to A&M, I'm not even sure how I would respond to that.

This thread isn’t about the coaching search. It’s about TAMU, their goals as a program, and the advantages they have as an institution.

Since it’s also a Football discussion then it belongs in the false urban myths forum,

So? Is that what people think of when they think of FSU? No. No it is not. They think of the Seminoles.

Almost right. They think of Bobby Bowden's Seminoles. If Jimbo fields a team that goes completely down the toilet after losing only one player, then he will never rival Bowden in Seminole history.

Hummm, maybe a football culture built on Championships, bowl games, coaches. FSU is a football “machine” compared to the Aggies. That’s a fact. This year is an anomaly, FSU will be back next year, no matter who the Head Coach is!

Given this season's team and the way he let Rapeis play him, I don't really see why anyone would be excited about Jimbo.

How is this for identity? They have played in and won more Major Bowl Games than all but 2 schools from the SEC. Top that off that they have been playing footbal for half as long as the SEC powers. The list on this is endless my fellow Bammer!
