Not really. It was all we had so it was all we leaned on. Then facilities upgrades happened and Coach Saban was hired. The right coach and commitment to excellence is what translates to recruiting success. Nobody was lining up to play for Mike DuBose or Mike Shula because of the Championships we won in the 1970s.

Again, facilities matter but they have a ceiling on how much they matter. If this weren't true, A&M wouldn't currently be considering firing their coach. Most kids simply want the best opportunity to play, win, and then go to the NFL. That's it.

I'm not sold on Jimbo.
But I would love to know which coaches are a better possibility than Jimbo. I'm talking about recruiting prowess, coaching experience/ability, and realistic get for A&M.
A&M can't be thinking of taking a flyer on some unproven coach. So name those who are better choices.

You really believe this? because I don't. You want to turn a kids head? Show him a fancy locker room, great weight room, and players lounge that is tricked out, and they will line up.

yup. No guarantees it'd fit, but he has to be a top 10 guy and I bet at lest 6 of the other 9 wouldn't leave for any program.

No idea. All I know is that I've seen some public clashes between Jimbo and alumni. Rumors are that there is discord, but that's not much to go on.

This season is not going to help any potential conflicts either. Maybe FSU doesn’t put much of a fight if he wants to move.
