If you had a 40MM buyout at your job if you got fired, you's sleep in, have long lunches, leave early, and bang your secretary.

It's worked out great for Aggy thus far.

If I'm as established as Fisher, I'm looking at things like alumni interactions and how involved do I have to be with all the big boosters. Maybe he enjoys that sort of thing, but I think that would be a nightmare to deal with at most major universities in Texas.
I think the facilities arm race is a bit overblown too. It matters, but not as much as you'd like to think. Everyone has nice facilities, but it doesn't always equate to recruiting success.

Who has a top 10 facilities and doesn't recruit well?

I like this BoarEd guy. He is pretty spunky for a fan of a school that has a Jeannie Craig dropout for a head coach.

that's kind of my point. The arms race can only get you so far. Everyone has nice facilities. Just because you have touch screens in the player's lounge doesn't mean you're going to beat out Bama, LSU, OSU, Michigan, etc for a top rated player.
That's what I meant by recruiting successes.

Not if the buyout has a "with cause" provision in it. Ask shark boy.

I guess this is built off of the relationship Jimbo had with Scott Woodward (A&M's current AD) back when they were both at LSU?
The situation at FSU could have changed drastically in 1 year but I can't see the A&M situation this year being any better than the LSU situation last year. I can't help but see the LSU situation as better, if for no other reason the built in recruiting advantage of being THE program in Louisiana vs. one of several (UT's resurgence, TCU in the top 10 now, plus OK, OK State having major perferences, etc.)
So he could be interested if FSU has suddenly turned sour in one year or he wanted to have nothing to do with Alleva, but for if neither of those are true I can't see why he'd want to risk his legacy on a rebuild at A&M...

It certainly makes a difference. Last year, he was under the impression FSU was going to be very good. He had his QB and they were a pre season top 4 team. Now they are tanking.
Fwiw I've cooled on Fisher as well. I can't believe how bad they've become. There is no excuse to be this bad just because your starting QB went down when you have recruited at their level. I think he's lost the locker room.

Wonder how hard your admin had to work to keep all of Rumlins escapades under wraps down there?
Aggy has a long history of shooting themselves in the dick and hiring Fisher is just loading another round in the chamber.
Can't get out of your own way.

you'll see a similar dip in recruiting once you fire your HC
has A&M outrecruited LSU since conference expansion? Honest question. I don't think so. And your facilities are abundantly nicer.

Well just for starters, you claimed ATM isn't a downgrade from FSU, which is a laughable joke in and of itself.
You cited facilities (which may be true and yet still irrelevant) and conference (which is no longer true). You cited stadium size (true), fanbase size (not sure if true), money (irrelevant), and academics (irrelevant), all of which were present during Sumlin's tenure, yet no changes in performance from the BIG XII to the SEC, because all of those things are irrelevant.
But the one thing you didn't cite, which is the most important of all, was the culture. All of those things you cited above are mere lipstick on a pig. That's why we BIG XII posters here laugh at all of you every time we see the "TAMU is a sleeping giant" posts.

I just looked and the 2 years after you upgraded facilities you finished outside of the top 10. 2015-#11 and 2016 #18.
LSU finished at 5 and 2. While essentially going bankrupt as a university and halting ongoing renovations.
That's my point. Nice stuff is only going to get you so far. I'm sure Fisher is aware of this. It's just not a driving factor for someone who already has nice shite.

So if facilities and recruiting are so great why does the State of Texas have so few NC's compared to the State of Florida? Tell me.

I think you just proved his point...
