Easy schedule.

Even Rutgers or Boston College could get 9 Wins out of that schedule.

If I was a season ticket holder I’d demand a refund.

Well you’re not, so don’t worry about it.
And our season ticket holders know the schedule before purchasing; they’re happy to watch the Ags play.

Experiencing the schedule from hell was fun the past few years, but it’ll be good to breathe in 2020, while the kids develop.

It’s always enjoyable reading your open-minded thoughts on our university .

Why the laughter?
It’s no secret to anyone what LSU fans think of us.
But put that aside and peruse some national media outlets.
Most agree with Hugh’s take.

Mond was definitely worse this year than the previous year

When he was “on,” he was better.
When he was “off,” he was worse.
That was his huge challenge last year—consistency.

Playing Clemson isn’t hell.

Serious question. Does Jimbo really have his heart in it? I know he worked on the fake accent but he just looks sad

I didn’t say it was.
Playing Clemson, along with Georgia, Alabama, Auburn, and LSU was rough.

We disagree; no big deal.
I’m just looking forward to a smoother ride this year, that’s all.

I couldn’t begin to answer that.
But each time I’ve seen him, he’s looked very content and happy.

He purchased a good sized working ranch outside of B/CS and has livestock and horses.
I know he’s enjoying that immensely.

Otherwise, I haven’t a clue.
I think family is very important to him; and they’re together.
Add on a nice paycheck, and my bet would be he’s at peace.

I think the Ags will win 10 games this season. They could win their first 10 games, or they could win their bowl game for win #10. Either way it will be a good season, and it may be a great season. I think They beat LSU this year.

In College Football perception is reality.

Most seasons A&M is not a major player on the national scene. We’ve seen a few times when not much is expected and they end up having a solid season or pull an upset here and there. Not often either but when they go into a season with expectations of becoming relevant they have failed. Not necessarily always tanking completely but far from delivering anything of note to their hungry fanbase. They haven’t even threated to win a Championship of any kind in forever. (Weird thing is not just in Football. Some very good baseball teams but have also cracked under pressure.)

An experience A&M should be really good in 2020. In their division the major players will be plucking in a lot of new pieces, and an easy schedule for SEC standards. Let’s see if they can start changing the perception of melting in the heat of the lights. The goal should be no less than winning the West and making a serious run in the national scene. Flawed but undeniably physically talented Mond will be a Senior. LSU and Bama are recruiting elite talent, AU is right there also. The Mississippi schools have some reason for optimism. In 2021 with a fresh faced QB it won’t be easy. The future is now. A&M needs to win big in 2020. 9-3 with that schedule is a failure, it would mean no better than 1-3 vs decent opposition.

You make some solid points, and I have a hard time disagreeing with most of what you said.

One of our biggest obstacles has always been ourselves.
We don’t always demand excellence in the athletics arena the way other programs do.
We’re content with enjoying the moment and supporting the players and coaches—win or lose.

Obviously that doesn’t automatically translate to championships in the manner it does at other institutions.

who are the best players coming back on y'alls roster?

I'll answer with returning starters in the order of best to worst (worst being most likely to lose their starting jobs)

WR Jhamon Ausbon (SR)
TE Jalen Wydermyer (SO)
OL Kenyon Green (SO)
DL Demarvin Leal (SO)
LB Buddy Johnson (SR)
S Demani Richardson (SO)
QB Kellen Mond (SR)
HB Isaiah Spiller (SO)
WR Ainias Smith (SO) - likely moving to RB
CB Elijah Blades (SR)
DL Bobby Brown (JR)
LB Anthony Hines (JR)
K Seth Small (JR)
S Leon O'Neal (JR)
OL Jared Hocker (SR)
OL Dan Moore (SR)
DL Tyree Johnson (JR)
OL Carson Green (SR)

Emergent backups are fairly numerous, but look out for Baylor Cupp (FR TE), Luke Matthews (SO OL), Tank Jenkins (SO OL), Brian Williams (SO DB), Derick Hunter (FR DL), Adarious Jones (FR DL), Jalen Preston (SO WR), Dylan Wright (FR WR), Erick Young (SO DB), Blake Trainor (FR OL), Braeden Mowry (Grayshirt DE from 2019 class) and Andre White (SO LB)

quote:
highest star recruits?

5* CB Jaylon Jones (Early Entrant)
5* WR Demond Demas
4* DE Donell Harris
4* S Antonio Johnson (Early Entrant)
4* LB Antonio Doyle
4* DE Fadil Diggs (Early Entrant)
4* RB/PR/KR Devon Achane
4* QB Haynes King (Early Entrant)
4* LB Edgerrin Cooper
4* WR Muhsin Muhammad III (Early Entrant)
4* OL Chris Morris (Early Entrant)

total of 13 early enrollees, the above are the highest rated.

We have a history with Colorado. I could see it, if Sumlin was still the coach
