No one, including Jimbo, is saying A&M doesn't have an NIL program and try to help recruits and players out. That's very different than saying A&M has #30 million they are spending or that the ONLY reason recruits are going to A&M is for NIL money. Bama has NIL. LSU does. UGA does. Ohio State does. On and on.
Also the idea that recruits are picking school A over school B because of a few thousand dollars seems far fetched. These guys are looking at 3 years and a shot at the NFL and trying to win championships. A few bucks isn't likely to mean nearly as much as the other factors. Now you can make fun of A&M for 8-4 or 1939 or whatever but there are still a lot of strong reasons why recruits go there. Folks here discount Jimbo's Natty and Conf Titles but recruits don't for instance. They also look at the other recruits on board and see where things are going. They see the facilities and how A&M honestly dwarfs most SEC schools in terms of spending and size.
As for "look at other fans pummeling Jimbo!" Who the hell cares? They are pissed because A&M has a great class and are trying to excuse it away. It's never hard to find haters.

Funny, that "weirdo" school is the largest university in the SEC and one of the largest in the country. It has the largest and most profitable athletic program in the SEC and the country. It has the largest alumni association in the country. A degree from A&M carries more prestige in every sector of businesses in the USA than any other SEC school. The campus and College Station have been ranked the best of the SEC by several news media organizations. Maybe these are some of the reasons more recruits want to come to A&M.

What he said was that the coaches and the university do not control NIL deals. They are controlled by private businesses and others.

A&M is a fine school but if you think a degree from there carries more weight than Vandy, UGA, or UF….to name a few, then you’re off your rocker. Also, UCF has 70k undergrads, why would that make it desirable?
