The problems JJ is having are fixable, Drews problems are not.

Eh, most kids play multiple sports in high school. Joe Burrow, for example, was an all-state basketball player like Lock.

Jeudy is starting like Roddy White did. Roddy overcame his yips. Maybe Jeudy can also. It would be a mistake to stop feeding Jeudy the ball. The kid just needs confidence.

I think for both parties - Drew and Elway - they should split.

I think Drew needs to have his arse chewed out everytime he goes deep when he doesn't need to. And yes, I'm implying the Patriots should trade a third rounder for him.

Lol y’all should just accept Drew Lock isn’t an NFL QB. If he and elway split its backup QB for the rest of his career

I would almost be there with you but there are plenty of teams with worse quarterbacks.

WHo? Statistically, this year the only QBs that have possibly been worse than Lock have been Carson Wentz and Sam Darnold. Those two have both been benched for Jalen Hurts and Joe Flacco, respectively. There also might be argument Haskins has been as bad.

We'll use QBR..

NFL Total QBR this year

28 - Drew Lock DEN

29 - Carson Wentz PHI

30 - Cam Newton NE

31 - Nick Foles CHI

32 - Nick Mullens SF

33 - Sam Darnold NY

Other just worse QBs: Dwayne Haskins,

Probably Equal - Gardner Minshew, Daniel Jones, Mitch Trubisky.

So of those, Wentz, Foles, and Darnold have been benched. So of guys still starting, we're talking about him being among the three worst current starting QBs with Cam and Mullens. And Mullens is the 49ers backup, with Garrapolo being out most of this year with an injury. Doesn't really dispel the notion as to him being better than terrible or arguably the worst starting QB in the league

I posted some of Lock's other numbers earlier ITT. Denver is 14th in the league in rushing, so that kind of refutes the idea their running game sucks. Lock has only been sacked 15 times all season. His sack % is one of the lowest in the NFL, so that also refutes the notion the OL has been horrible. His INT% is the worst in the NFL among qualifying QBs; he has the third worst passer rating in the NFL; and he has the second worst completion % in the NFL. So maybe his QBR is "only" in the bottom 3 of QBs still starting right now, but he is towards the bottom 3 or the very bottom of every measurable metric for QBs. That doesn't lend well to the notion of pointing fingers at his team mates as to why he's been so bad. Maybe his team mates haven't had the opportunity to be better because he's been objectively bad.

We've heard every excuse in the book: His line sucks, his receivers suck, his GM sucks, his running backs suck, one of his receivers is hurt, he played two sports in high school. Denver does not have the worst supporting cast in the NFL, but Missouri fans ITT seem to be treating him like he's playing with a bunch of college walk-on level players and he's only been bad because everyone else is bad. There are QBs with as bad or worse help around them that are performing much better than Lock has this year.

Wentz - Benched
Foles - Backup. Became starter. Now benched.
Mullens - Backup only playing because of injury.
Darnold - Benched

Sounds like Lock is easily bottom 3 in terms of starters.

Just for fun, I picked a couple of other NFL QBs named Drew to see how they performed in their first year as starter to compare with this Drew. Here's what I came up with:

Drew Bledsoe Games: 13 Compl %: 49.88 YDS:2,494 TD:15 INT:15 QBR:65
Drew Brees - Games: 11 Compl %: 57.58 YDS:2,108 TD:11 INT:15 QBR: 67.5
Drew Lock - Games : 12 Compl %: 56.97 YDS: 2,594 TD:14 INT:15 QBR: 72.5

(for number of games comparison purposes I actually picked Brees's 2nd year as starter...but his 1st year wasn't that much different)

Now, I'm not the world's biggest NFL fan, but as I understand it, that Brees fellow had a pretty good career, Bledsoe stuck around the NFL for a while as well.

Perhaps it's a bit premature to write off the newest "Drew" after only his first year as starter.
