would you feel sorry if he smacked your mother or your wife/girlfriend? You do not hit a woman. Takes a real low life piece of shite to do that

It wasnt on bama's field so what gives that thuglet the right to assault??? just because he plays for bama doesnt give that thuglet a free pass. What would you do if he smacked your mother? would you give him a free pass??

Just woke up and saw the video.. wow. In todays political climate I sing see how Burton’s not kicked off the team. Football has put a huge emphasis on violence against women.

I was only interested in if the number of people breaking a law is a consideration since you brought up what to look at legally. I wouldn't think it would, as I showed in my hypothetical example.

How many times do we have to teach you this lesson old man!?

Fans on the field is a civil matter. It is an SEC policy violation. Not a single, solitary person on the field was committing a crime by being there. Not. One.

Battery is a criminal offense.

Your entire argument is about victim blaming. "She shouldn't have worn that out fit".

I’m not reading the thread now, I’m just wondering if any douche has used the cringey line “frick around and find out”?

Another example of how undisciplined this football team is. Burton should've gotten his arse off the field as soon as possible. PERIOD!

Kiss my arse. I doubt you could design software that has generated millions of dollars in revenue. Most lawyers are pieces of shite anyway who practice ways to manipulate and get around the law. World would be better off with the majority of you.

So brave that you fought thru tears to post this.

I am howling at “…software that has generated millions [MILLIONS!] of dollars in revenue”…what a flex.

The kid fricked up and it’s that simple.

Y’all can define what happened however you choose but it doesn’t change the fact that he made a mistake and that his poor judgment (against a non threatening person) should raise concern.

Dude step back for a second and maybe walk away from college football. If you can’t just say he is a POS and needs to be heavily dealt with with suspensions then you are lost

Jermaine Burton looks like a dried up dog turd. Proof he acts like one now. These were just a few reasons Georgia fans didn't want him back. At least Bama doesn't have to trick someone into taking him. The girls parents are gun enthusiast.

It would have been impossible for him to hit her if she was smart enough to stay off the field. Right or wrong? Let us see your answer.

“It would have been impossible for him to have shot her if she hadn’t gone to school that day.”

You understand that your but-for argument does nothing to absolve Burton, right?

If he had began striking and mercilessly bludgeoning everyone on the field with his helmet, would that be legally permissible? Yes or no? Let us see your answer. The analysis isn’t based on the extent of harm, but the legal right of a player to assault someone on the field simply because they - along with 50,000 other people - are on the field AFTER the game. Can Burton assault the camera man and maintenance guy for being on the field after the game?

Even if Burton owned the field, he wouldn’t have that right.

Her being on the field, even if a civil infraction (one that isn’t enforced, by the way), does not give anyone - especially a visiting player - the right to illegally commit battery upon anyone. Nevermind the fact that the female is a student at UT and her tuition pays for that field.
