Is he trying to woo the Auburn vote here? LINK

I have to agree that the talent level seemed to have dipped considerably by the time Tubs left Auburn, but winning 68% of your games and an SEC title should be good enough for lasting goodwill, right?

He isn’t wrong. And I don’t think most Auburn fans harbor any ill will towards him...politics aside.

They don't call it the Tubbershell for nothing. Gus is Tubbershell 2.0, but at least Tubs owned Bama, Florida and won his fair share against thUGA and LSU. Can't say the same for Gus.

Nope. Tubs isn't like Strange or Roy Moore where people in Alabama had a set opinion of him before Trump came along.

With Trump's endorsement and constant belittling of Sessions, it's pretty much over. Session was loyal to a man who is loyal to no one but himself and he's getting what he deserved for trusting Trump.

So you think Tubs will win it?

Do Bama folks have an issue voting for him? I would vote for Saban (if our politics aligned) in the same situation.

Yes, he's going to win the primary and the general election. The primary was effectively over when Trump endorsed him and came out against Sessions. Doug Jones barely won the special election a couple of years ago against an extremely unpopular GOP candidate who was being credibly accused of statutory rape. He's toast.

We're sending someone who has never been elected to any office to the US Senate with a political platform that's basically "I like Trump and God" written in crayon on half of a Post-it note.

How many times has Jeff Sessions beaten Bama? or UGA? or won the SEC? Sessions' understanding of blocking schemes and receiver routes are light years behind Tubs. You think Sessions even knows what an RPO is?

Jeff Sessions gave up one of the safest senate seats in the country to get discarded like a candy bar wrapper by Trump, you hate to see it.

Tuberville will vote in basically the same manner as Sessions and stick his foot in his mouth from time to time. More entertaining for the same results, who can argue with that?

Sessions is a big AU fan, I use to see him at many games. So his evaluation of Tubs is more than political.

Tubs was 3-4 against Florida, and he was very fortunate to win all 3. Pretty sure he was the underdog in all 3 of his wins.

Ok, I don't know the whole back story here on why Tuberville won't debate, but I have no use for a candidate who won't debate. All the Trumplkins here supporting Tuberville will be just as quick to bash Biden if he doesn't agree to debate Trump...especially an on-stage debate.

He is an AU season ticket holder.

Neither Ears nor Sessions said they'd debate in the primary. Sessions is changing his tune in the run-off because polling shows Ears with a big lead.

It doesn't matter at this point. Trump doesn't support him and is vocal about it, so Sessions is done for.

Got it. Sessions should have insisted early on before the primary.

Tubs actually finished 4-3 against Saban, but it seems safe to say that wouldn't have held if he had stayed. Chizik may have been in over his head as a HC, but he restocked the talent level there after inheriting a pedestrian roster from Tubs. Malzahn seems to be a great recruiter for all his faults

I'm sure Chizik appreciates inheriting that elite oline from Tubs, it helped a ton in winning that '10 NC.
