You gotta wonder how many more LSU can take hits from losing so many players since earlier this year for various reason and still be a contender for championship? Alabama went through this before, so we'll see how LSU responds in few weeks.

I think his stock will drop honestly.

Yep.

He'll still make millions, but he's also leaving millions on the table.

He's getting some bad advice because this will cause character flags. Even minor ones can lead to big drops in the 1st round.

We’re about to see just how much the NFL needs college football.

They are going to begin losing years of talent evaluation.

COVID and wokeness is going to change football forever.

I don’t think we’re serious contenders now

too many unknowns about the long term effects COVID

Wow.... because we all know that once you enter the NFL you can't catch the COVID19 virus

So football doesn't exist if these stars do not play ? He is not opting out because of the virus, he is doing it to protect his draft status. Just like those players that opt out of meaningless Bowls. Actually this is smarter than those guys, because they have earned their draft status.

Seems like it could hurt his draft status though it would be a joke of a season

LSU is still one of the 4 or 5 teams that have a legitimate shot at a national title this year

This move changes nothing, other than giving the rest of the conference false hope

Who would have been the NFLs top pick in the 2020 NFL Draft if the 2019 season didn't happen ? Tua or Burrow ? Where do you think Tua would have been drafted if he sat out last year ?

but I think Waddle and Smith will go off and go before him now.

I still don’t get Smith coming back for his Senior year while we can’t even get our guys more than 2 years now. Pretty ridiculous. No reason for Smith to play this year. I think he was better than Ruggs last year. Bama boosters paying better than agents now.

But go ahead and make your case, former LSU fan.

Literally has nothing to do with LSU. If Trey Smith opted out I would 100% be okay with it .Sure it would suck but I wouldn't call him a quitter or a bitch like half the college football fanbase would.

Imagine getting mad at a guy for not entertaining you for free but instead playing it safe so he makes millions.
lol the odds of a career ending injury are microscopic and assuning he won't be laying on the couch for the next 8 months he can just as easily suffer a career ending injury working out

Sounds like he knows what’s coming game 1 and doesn’t want to be a part of a Mike Leach beatdown

This is an old article, but this is also and old argument. You thinking that these scholarships have no value shows me you haven't done any math on the issue at all.
