Arguably the best returning player on a roster that lost loads of talent to the draft.

Orgeron has his work cut out for him this year.

That hurts. Kid was on fire in practice.

Best player in the SEC just opted out.

This is true. Strange part is - he was our most vocal leader too. Kid was setting up practices all summer.

Agents got to him and are gonna pay him.

This is a huge blow to us. No way else to spin it. As much as we’re replacing. Marshall is still a legit #1 but has had injury issues every year.

Chase was going to be the focal point of the offense

And you say this as an Ole Miss fan? No. We’ll be fine, we actually have very good depth at WR.

I think his stock will drop honestly. I expected him to be top 10 and the first off the board but I think Waddle and Smith will go off and go before him now.

Maybe it’s just a different type of year but I think it says something about a players mentality if they don’t want to play. Give me the kid that wants to strap up and go to war.

It’s an observation. He’s not saying that Ole Miss is going to beat LSU this year.

No one on our roster has Chases skill set or talent. He was the best receiver in the country, top 5 player overall.

Man y’all keep expecting this train to chug along but this setting up to be a complete overhaul and we just lost our best player 4 weeks before the season.

If Orgeron wins 8 games then I’ll be thrilled. This is going to be a tough year. Myles better be the truth and god help us if he gets hurt.

Not even mad... if I was him I would too.

Well, he could have done it earlier. Timing is kind of shitty if they do have a season

Imagine getting mad at a guy for not entertaining you for free but instead playing it safe so he makes millions.

I predicted this a month ago. With players sitting out bowl games, this is the next logical extension of that. Some of them have little or no loyalty to their respective schools, and without that, the smart business decision is for him to sit and save the wear and tear on his body. He has proven himself worthy of a high draft pick, and they draft off potential anyway, so his combine will mean as much if not more to NFL scouts than his junior year would have.

Also he has plenty of cover with the Wuhan Flu this season.

Don’t get me wrong, losing Chase hurts badly, but 99.9% of teams manage playing without a WR as good as JaMarr Chase or Terrace Marshall, and we still have Terrace for now.

It's amateur football and everything I've heard indicates the kid is ready to be a professional. There's no reason for him to take another college snap.

Honestly if this really is amateur ball can anyone really justifiably be mad?

Ima need you to explain the free part? Are you saying he is playing for free, or that someone is going to the game for free, because neither is true.

But go ahead and make your case, former LSU fan.

That is frickin wild. Reigning Biletnikoff winner straight up choosing not to play.

I think that this hurts him. Not saying that I think that he is a system player, but going from irrelevant in 2018 to thriving in an incredible offensive system in 2019, he really hasn't proven that he can have the same kind of success without Brady/Burrow.

I suppose though that if he did play this season and didn't perform up to snuff then he wouldve lost more money than ending his college career after the 2019 season.

Again, I am not saying that he isn't a future NFL star or that he is, I'm just saying.

I agree but a couple of things:

Having 1 great WR and 2 is a world of difference

Chase is substantially better than Marshall

Marshall has had injury issues

And most importantly - Chase was not only our best player- all reports said he was the unquestioned leader of our offense.

I’m just saying - trying to act like this isn’t going to be a complete rebuild at this point is simply untrue.

Maybe we reload keep rolling but O is working with an entirely new team and he lost the guy who built the offense and also is changing schemes on defense with a new coordinator.

If he wins 8 games I’ll be thrilled. 9 and I’ll be shocked. If he goes 10-0 give him a lifetime contract
